Hawthorn got physical with the Pies early, and Pies had no answer.
And I am not intimation the clash between Newcome and Howe was intentional. It was just a football collision.
Hopefully Howe recovers quickly.
Are the Pies losing contact with the better teams. Have teams at last worked out Nick Daicos!.
The Hawks looked like they have got back to the exciting footy they have played previous.
I was at the MCG tonight expecting a battle. One team came to play, the other one didn’t. Hawks were outnumbering the pies at just about every contest which indicates a higher level of running, working and desire.
Hawthorn looked like they had more pace and that is a worry for the Magpies given the age of their squad. Maybe just an off night for them but they need to rebound pretty quickly given the closeness of the battle for the top 4 and 8.
I’m off down the highway tomorrow to the Cattery to see another mismatch but will make it worthwhile by having a look around Geelong first
