Perth Wildcats now in Victorian hands. Oh dear!!

Been confirmed Craig Hutchison’s Sports Entertainment Group is the new owner of the Perth Wildcats. He has relinquished his position as chairman of rival club Melbourne United and reportedly will relinquish or dilute it’s current 25% stake in Melbourne United.

Have to say I am sceptical they will do all they can to keep the Wildcats on top. Cost him 8.5 million. All about owning an iconic brand and getting a foothold in the market here. Strange times in more ways than one.

Obviously basketball isn’t Twiggy’s thing.

Nope I am afraid DD Twiggy is more interested in wasting his money on a rich man foreign sport like Rugby and that Western Farce concept then spending money on our own country’s indigenous sport Australian Rules Football and or our iconic grassroots WAFL let alone the popular West Aussie basketball club the Perth Wildcats!

Pity Sam Barnett didn’t buy them…or at least pretend to.

Hahaha I’m sure he was working in a “scheme” to get it done.

Yep he could have used it to try to entice the indigenous community he champions to get involved in community basketball couldn’t he?

Twiggy likes propping up a sport thats played predominately for Springbok and Kiwi expats.
Or the sport that is already ingrained into their culture the indigenous game Marngrook…but hey it is not the rich man’s European game Twiggy prefers over our very OWN sport!

FMG has been a longtime supporter of Australian hockey.

3 of the 5 directors SEG live in Western Australia headed by Craig Coleman, they currently own 1/4 of Melb United but are diluting those shares, they will own Cats 100%.,

Mitch Nortan has just resigned with the club

Resigned or re-signed?
And???
Just another minute foreign sport!

that’s the end of my casual view - can’t support that conflict of interest
Minute foreign sport? It is an Olympic sport of longstanding; played in the two most populous countries in the world. Played in well in excess of 100 countries worldwide.
As a sport it is not even a blip on the radar here in god’s own country Australia!
Where in the world is hockey the number 1 sport in a country?
In which country is Aussie Rules or basketball the number one sport?

So radio station SEN are the new owners.Hutchies station and he still owns 25,% of rival club Melbourne United.8 million seems a steal for this great WA sporting organisation.
Thankyou Jack Bendat for all your cash and hard work with the Wildcats. At the age of 96 it is time to take a step back. You are a legend of WA sport. And gave WA a great sporting team.Making WA his home and being a very successful business man
