Perth vs the reigning Premiers

The sooner, the better.Of course, the Club we trust will bring them back, when top notch clear to go,…

I’m happy with that I don’t like not seeing players on the injured list you know are injured and now more accurate regarding Schlenga and Pats.

Another observation that is evident after the first two weeks of teams going up is WA Football has probably told all clubs you must put your final line-up up in Thursday night. No more 8-10 on the interchange and trimming it down late Friday afternoon. Those public servants like their Friday arvos free for beer o’clock.

Would of thought most dates of return from the injury, would be worst case timelines from over cautious physio’s……though the old TBC, is one commonly used that seem to have no end date at all.

Might be more a Directive of AFL Clubs who have frequently witheld naming their Teams right up to an hour or so,before the WAFL Fixture is due to play.

Consequently recently, their immediate opponent had followed suit and witheld naming(and publicising)their Team.

If WA Football I am glad to call them in this case, pulls up the Serial Offenders on this score,ALL POWER TO THEM HERE!

Our true line-up will be IMO

B. Sing Dean Scoble

HB. Philip Taylor OH-B

C. Cachard Constable Davis

HF. Gardiner Johnston Kluske

F. Moore Clarke Luers

R. Edwards Parfitt Byrne

Int. Harding Kirk Wills Gray Cameron

Ready to plant another ripsnorting Tackle on number 34,Willsy?

Think I’ll watch this on mute. 7 commentators are both clearly South Freo fans and have not done their research. Number 15 is Baxter Philip, not Phil Baxter, 49 is Sam Cameron not Angus Luers and is not a recruit. Perth’s possessions all seem to be lucky, Souths’ all seem to be through great skill. Good game to watch, not so good to listen to.

They certainly are pills. They have no idea, and are certainly not balanced in their comments.

Just waiting for them to break out the bulldogs chant

Faarkin pathetic

Well it might be good to have this game in Round 2 , certainly clear improvement is needed! We haven’t helped ourselves but those 2 goals South were gifted in second qtr was a 3 goal turnaround. Hopefully can kick a few snags in the last qtr

In hindsight having a soft win like last week wasn’t good preparation for a team like Souths because when they amped it up we wilted under pressure, we’re crying out for a couple of small fwds because Souths just walked it out .

Parfitt felt sore in the groin in the first qtr and didn’t come back on. My bad just watching the mini match Parfitt was on the ground around the 16 minute mark of the 2nd qtr.

Pathetic effort really South’s were on from the get go and never let us in the game. Backline can hold their heads high that’s about it.

Sad for not just Perth but the WAFL that the Premiers are locked in after round 2. Reality check for us - we recruit heavily and we recruit well but we are still a class below SF. Johnston and Clarke dined out against WCER but were humiliated by Strom and Pearson. Up until the last quarter, I think we had taken 2 marks inside 50. Luers simply isn’t a good enough player to take advantage of the attention being paid to the key forwards, and the smalls were nowhere to be seen. Philip and Kirk were good in the first half, then faded badly. Constable worked hard as always, but was sloppy by foot. Taylor, Scoble and Dean were ok. We should have lost by a lot more - 29 scoring shots to 13. The equation was simple enough - beaten by a better team all over the ground.

Onto Peel. They will start favourites at Mandurah. We will benefit from Cox being likely to replace Darcy. Let’s hope Parfitt is ok to play. The reserves lost badly, so it’s hard to see anyone putting their hand up. If Parfitt doesn’t get up, Watson should come in. Despite poor performances from Luers, Cachard, Gray and Cameron, they will probably keep their spot until Schlensog and Paton return.

I thought Gray was good. Gardiner showed he’s got a bit of pace and has a good kick in him. Not bad considering it was his first game in any grade. I didn’t think Glass-McCasker showed much in the reserves but I still think we need his physical presence.

If he’s fit and raring to go,he’s in In my Book.

Well I think Mark Stone learned a lot today about who can perform under pressure against good opposition and one positive. AFL scouts won’t be running the highlighter over any of our blokes for a while. A case of nothing to see here.

Beat me to it,though the Injuries seem to be piling up in the AFL.

I can’t see GM coming in. If anything, we were too tall. SF exposed us for pace and seemed to run faster and harder than us. They were first to every contest. They presented leads, while we were left to bomb down the line and into the forward line. They tackled harder, so that we seemed panicked and had very little space and clean possession. Adding GM won’t help with that. That said, it is hard to make changes when the reserves showed so little. If Parfitt is fit, the only change I would make is Luers out and Watson in. Weather may play a part. The forecast is for rain on both Friday and Saturday. Light, but it may make things slippery, in which case Luers would definitely have to make way. Hill had a poor game in the reserves, but may be considered in the wet.

If we don’t play Jesse,we’ll lose him to someone like Subi, who’ll then probably skip ahead of us in the race for the Flag.
That is something I couldn’t stomach.
What did we get him for,if we don’t use his talent and ability?
