Perth v Subi

What’s wrong with Parfitt and how long is he out? We have a bye after EF - will he be ok by then? If Thorne and R Clarke are fit, one of them is the obvious choice to replace Simpson. If both are fit, I’d drop Hill or Philip.

Regan’s hand still strapped maybe he’s ok after the state round bye. Fingers crossed Simpson and Parfitt will be available then too. I’d look at bringing Stubbs in for a bigger body midfield and forward against the Sharks. And Thorne.

I believe Parfitt may well be back this week.

Simpson is an out so that’s the replacement.

If Parfitt doesn’t get up I would go Watson as an in.

I must say I am surprised at your pitch for Stubbs DD - for mine he is slow, drops easy marks and falls over a lot. When I look up and see him on the lead in the forward line my heart drops.

Saying that if his body language is good after a few weeks in the Ressies - welcome back.

BTW - Are you seeing him as a mid or forward?

Did anyone see Thorne at Lathlain on Saturday. If not is the one week knee bs?

Going on Stubbs numbers last two weeks TF. 27 and 2 goals and this week 31. Yes Watson if fit comes. McLean and Hill possible outs with Simpson. Thorne in for Hill and Watson for Baxter Philip possibly.

Simpson apparently with a hammy and likely to miss a month according to The West. They are also saying Parfitt, Thorne and Watson should be available next week.

My understanding is that Parfitt was hamstring awareness, whatever that is.
I assume a bit of tightness in the hammy, and his withdrawal was precautionary.
Probably available this week.
We will need to be at our very best against EF.

What does the club do with Simpson. As soon as he gets out of a trot his hammy pings. I read something on Jacob Hopper at Richmond. He has dodgy hammy’s as well and virtually doesn’t sprint at all. He does his work on the inside and runs at 70% to get to the next contest. He’s going well at the moment. Maybe something similar for Simpson. It’s pointless him playing a couple of games then missing 4.

Clark at least 4 weeks away with broken finger - operated on with pins inserted

Hey good to see you back Sacko.

Dodd didn’t sound overly confident about Parfitt. We may be better leaving him out again. Whether he plays this week or not, we should absolutely be using his hamstring issues as a reason to declare him unavailable for the state game.

There are some interesting issues against EF. Leggett is a problem - we need someone with real body strength to play on him, Sing would be the obvious choice. If Marsh looks like getting on top of JPC, we may need to swing Schlensog back. With Simpson out, and if Parfitt misses again, who comes in? I’d have Thorne. I’d also look at Hill and/or McLean going out, to be replaced by Stubbs. Another option might be to bring in Gray to tag either Murdoch or Baskerville.

Feel that we will need to be at full strength to be a chance on the weekend against the MSF - I think it will be a game of defences and whoever comes out on top should win with the midfields nullifying each other. The Perth backline is very young with Taylor 28, Sing 24, JPC & Poole 21, OHB & Philip 20 & Scoble 19yo - holding up well but this will be a real test!!!
