Perth v EF

It’s EFFC!!!

This much we know… Edmonds, Richo, Yeo and Reid named in the ressies.
I guess Brady Grey may not play in the main game. McPartland, Hendo and Rogers may be ressies bound also.
If Sinclair does not make it then Avery may play.

yep and we are the PFC known to self destruct on occasions.

EF have a decent team on paper. Won’t be easy, and though we get some players back, we are still not at full strength. I think we should keep Avery. I don’t like Busher on a wing. I’d prefer either Avery on a wing, or Fisher on the wing and Avery at half back. I’d like to see Busher at CHF. Surprised Steel kept his spot, but to play a guy in his second game in such a pivotal position is ambitious. He should be relieving in the ruck off the bench. Rogers would be fit, so I don’t know why he would play reserves. I accept his form hasn’t been great but he’s got to a better option than Browne.

Don’t get yourself all worked up over the line up Ted they rarely name them where they will play. As I said earlier I think Steel should be kept to support Eyres and not expect McInness to ruck in his first game back from a serious pec injury. He’s a good athlete. Browne has been really good the last few weeks and deserves to hold his spot, ditto Sing though he may drop out if Sinclair is passed fit. Hayward must be injured I didn’t expect him to hold his spot with all those ins but not named in the ressies.

This should be a great contest and hopefully a good crowd turns up despite being on the telly. Only 3% chance of rain looks like it’s coming on Sunday. EF might be buoyed by Monaghan’s contract extension……..or maybe they won’t?

TN Rogers named on League interchange and does not appear on Ressies list.

Busher only lines up on a wing to drop back as a loose man in defence. I don’t mind this as a back up move, but don’t want to start the game negative. For mine Busher at Half forward, Fraser at FF. Do we need Avery and Steel? I guess that depends on Fraser’s fitness level and ability to help out Eyres in the ruck.
For mine, I’m glad Eddo has been dropped, he makes too many mistakes and to be fair Hendo must be next. Browny is showing enough to keep his spot.

The final 22 has been named
In: Langlands, Grey, Busher, Masten, McInnes, Rogers and Sinclair
Out: Hitchcock, Gray, Taylor, Edmonds, Davis, Henderson and Hayward

Davis and McPartland are emergencies, so still possible depending on fitness tests. I must say i’m very happy with those ins and agree with the omissions.

Other than when peel and freo have cheated in the past this has to be the best list of ins in history of the game…

Happy with all that. The only thing I would say is that I would have preferred McPartland to Browne, just to have another midfield option in the event that Grey, Langlands and Masten are lacking match fitness. But that is a very small gripe. And we still have Yeo, Gibba and maybe Taylor to come back in the coming weeks. Go Demons.

Yep go Demons.
Agree re McPartland although in all fairness Browne has actually surprised.
Can’t understand why Yeo not playing League.
Has he not played 3 Ressies games?

Fell a lot more comfortable with some players back.
But this is a must win.

That’s about the best line-up I’ve seen all year since the opening game especially considering Haydn Busher was not on our list back then. And I like the players they have retained and omitted. I think the selectors have got it right. Looking forward to this game a lot more than I was driving to Lathlain two weeks ago I can tell you.

Another positive (provided, God forbid, we get more injuries) is that there should be serious pressure on for league spots. Gibba’s return will force out a tall, most likely Steel, but guys like Avery and Hill will have to be play well. Hopefully Yeo is not too far away. Richardson, McPartland, Davis , DBW and Edmonds will be keen to get back to the league team, so the likes of Sing, Browne, Eyres, Rogers and Clark will need to get some runs on the board.

Article in the West also mentioned ET, saying he is undergoing conditioning work before he comes back to the club. I have given up on ET. I mean, he’s welcome back, and I wish him well, but why is he out of condition? What has he been doing for the last 6 months? Sure, he’d be lacking match fitness, but aerobically, he should be in tip top shape. Anyway, the article says he may be back at Lathlain in late July, so we’ll hope for the best.

Another bleak day for our Colts. A 15 goal drubbing.
Where is our next generation of players going to come from?

that is your best side in 30 years…well on paper anyway

We will win very easily.

As for where the next gen is coming from they are playing for other clubs unfortunately because of the district the WAFC give us, their failure to address it in 2009 and their failure to give us additional resources as promised in 2009.

If they help us this time around the generation of players after the next one may come more from our zone.

Oh and strongbow, if this is our best team im 30 years, which side did it trump? Which side is now the second best having been displaced by this one? Round 16 2007? Round 18 1997? I’d be interested in your view.

Piss poor effort. Congratulations to EF clearly wanted it more. Simple as that. Our skills today were deplorable.

Why do I follow this mob?? Jesus Christ, where do you start. Soft lazy and unskilled.

You have to run boys, RUN. So poor.

We lack genuine pace from backs to mids to forwards.
We lack a ruckman at the club that can take marks and influence a game.
We lack Kpp’s that can take a game by the scruff of the neck.
We lack skill, simple things like hitting a player up 20 metres away.
Our hand balling is like pass the parcel, deer in the headlights stuff.
We are the worst team in the comp for “ guarding space”
Teams just waltz out of our forward line into there forward in line.
We are nothing more than witches hats.
Under no pressure.
Half way point and our seasons cooked, another early mothball season
Nothing seems to change
