Apparently our salary and points cap concessions end at the end of this season. Not sure how it works but I’m assuming we can keep and re-sign players recruited under the concessions otherwise what would be the point?
I need to put the season back in some perspective.
My expectations have risen too high after a few wins.
We were hoping at the beginning of the year to vie for a position in the five.
As we are 1 game clear in 5th I guess that means we are on track.
Yes we have some improving to do.
We cannot afford to lose either of the next 2 games, WCER & an undermanned SD.
I think we will get back on track.
Our number 1 priority is to sign Constable, Simpson and Clarke to a second contract.
Our A graders from the East seem to stay 2 years then go home.
Bolton for instance has stayed and played over 200 games for Claremont.
I like the look of our direction, but we have a lot of hard work to do.
I´d much rather make the finals on our own merit by winning 12 - 13 games. But the ghosts of the past are always there, so I’m happy with WP losing. As DF said, we have 2 games that we should win before the bye. In those same 3 weeks, WP have EF and C, and Peel have WCER and SF. So if it goes on form and ladder position, after 10 games we would have 7 wins, Peel 4 wins and a draw, and WP 3 wins. We would have to have a disastrous last 8 games to miss from there. Always possible with Perth, I know, but we can set ourselves up nicely if we can win the next two.
As I said before, I think TBH makes way for Poole. I´d drop Kemp, bring in Della and play Simpson half forward. Simpson had a poor game v C (by means alone in that), and I don’t think he has the conditioning to play on ball. He does have the class and creativity to be an effective forward.
Cheers Rednblack- like i said ,when Parff got cannoned into and i noticed a couple of Perth players walk away -thats not on,our team mates are family… Playing away is always more challenging -we have to take that next step.
Mike, we have allowed ourselves to be intimidated for too long.
It’s time to stop being pushed around and bullied.
Stone had some stern words about not that incident specifically Mike at 3qtr time. He said they have been bashing you around all day. Unfortunately they didn’t respond. Claremont were just too good for us after half time. Jack will come straight into the side next week we need him down back.
