Perth Glory dead ???

news is breaking that Tony Sage has given back the A-League licence & the team were placed into administration immediately

He’s given up a fortune in money so I do feel for the bloke even though I don’t follow soccer

possible that there won’t be a side from WA

Apparently Perth Glory placed into receivership today. And Sage immediately ceased his control.
It’s been said the advisory company Korda Mentha is to take control of the clubs operations until the licence is handed to new owners. The last I heard, Sage was in talks with a European entity some months ago.
The sale might take another couple of months before everything is settled.
I think the next A-league season starts in October?, and still 3 - 4 months to get organised.

Been losing money for decades, very hard to see it ever being a financial viable prospect, Sage as a pain in the arse as he is had kept the whole thing afloat for years, with very few people willing to blow those sort of funds on a financial black hole.

The licence is now revoked as a condition is to stay out of receivership and will revert to the league to try and find another buyer or in this case loser as its a financial dud and the crowds have stayed away for quite a long time now. A league is really struggling for relevance with very little media coverage and smaller crowds.

the problem is, is that its a shit sport played by princesses.
