He didn’t have much success in his previous stints and I don’t reckon anyone would want to run through a brick wall for him! Perth need a proven flag winning coach and that leaves Darren Harris and John Dimmer I reckon, forget Tony Micale as he is too old and wont have an AFL alignment to assist him!
Chris Pike tweeted Micale to south and Waterman to Perth. Both virtual done deals. Hope not

Gee obviously past coaching records dont count.
He had Peel for 4 years,2006 - 2009.
He finished 8th,8th,6th and a wooden spoon 9th finish.
Very Perth like those stats so he would fit in well with the losing culture.
He then took over Subi 2010 until 2012 bearing in mind when he took over Subi they were coming off finishing 2nd the previous year so the foundation of a good team was already there.
He finished 6th,3rd (surprise GF encounter and runners up after West Perth finishing higher went out of the finals in straight sets)
and in his final season finished 7th.
Its a pretty mediocre coaching record over 7 seasons at 2 clubs for 1 successful year of finals footy,is that the type of coach we are after?
Id be hoping for a coach with a better win/loss coaching record than that!
Hopefully its just a rumour.
Like you 30+, I could not get very excited over a Waterman appointment.
It would seem to me way too early for a deal to done yet so hopefully it is only a rumour.
I did hear on Saturday the names of Brett Guerra and Austin Jones mentioned. No Thank you.
I still think we need Harris or Harvey if we can get either.

I did tweet him questioning this bit he seemed very confident. Sounds like he has some inside info. I agree with you 30+. This doesn’t inspire me at all.
I did hear from someone at the club about 2 weeks ago that they wanted to appoint someone with premiership success so that contradicts what Pike has said
Brad Keast was not told in very good manner.
Bloody disgraceful in fact.
Typical of our man management skills.

Would love to know more?

Well from what i have heard is this little Hitler is directly responsible for fucking 2 very good players off and one regular this season. First one was Daniel Murray, sounds to me the way he handled it was the problem and same goes for Ali Smith and Brad Keast. This bloke thinks he’s got a license to berate players and treat them like shit. I’d like to know who gives him that license?
Football manager? Not a football managers arsehole.
Sacko his coaching record stands at 140 games for 53 wins and 87 losses at 2 clubs.
Not very good hey.
Even in his GF year Subi only won 12 games for the season and it was mainly West Perths poor finals series that got them through,WP went out in straight sets after finishing 2nd on the ladder.
Either side of his GF appearance Subi finished 6th and 7th.
I cant see how we can possibly appoint him based on his coaching record to date.
I saw him first hand at Subi and wasn’t overly impressed. I remember one day he spat the dummy completely at 3/4 time and basically said he’d had enough, told the players to sort themselves out and just walked away from the huddle…pretty ordinary for mine.
Back on saturday’s game.
Billings a late withdrawal was missed. With him and Risol out we were undermanned down back. Sinclair very good. Edmonds not up to league standard by a long way.
I would rate that game on Saturday as one of the worst I’ve ever seen of WAFL footy. The sacked coach bounce lasted one week. No one prepared to work hard and run to present and create space. Comedic at times, tragic at others and apart from watching Clem Smith niggle and kidney punch behind play it had little going for it. Yes Billings and Risol were big losses and Kane got monstered by Saunders but seemed to me everything Williams told them to do they did the opposite. The next coach will have a mighty job making this team competitive let alone anything else.

Cheers for that Sacko and I’m not sure I’m all that convinced on Waterman either.

Daniel Murray whilst a very good player for us in his short, very short time at the club was a bit of a head case.
Ali Smith judging by what happened last month an a former players facebook page I think he had a problem with the former coach.
A bit unfair to solely put the blame on the FM there DD.
