Fair dinkum what a joke this mob are proving to be. First the big identity theft hacking scandal and now the whole fucking Optus NBN and mobile network is out not for 30 minutes, not for an hour but since 4am this morning. Not sure if that is 4am our time or AEST.
And this is the most recent response from the chief clown. “Optus chief executive officer Kelly Bayer Rosmarin told ABC Sydney shortly before 11am, they were still trying to figure out what had caused the issue”. This clueless CEO doesn’t want to admit it but I reckon they’ve been hacked again. Stand by for the ransom call from Valdimir’s fulltime professional hackers Kelly.
Hospitals, train networks, banking, government services and hate to think how it is affecting retailers. The doomsdayers who keep spruiking cash will be beating their chests this morning saying I told you so. I can’t login into MyGov because I can’t receive an SMS code because I am with Amaysim which uses the farken Optus network and they don’t give you an email alternative. They give you a MyGov Identity alternative which I already have but I can’t work out how to use it to login into MyGov.
Absolute clusterfuck heads need to roll at this telco, if you have Telstra shares you will probably see a big spike. Scares me to think I was thinking about switching from Telstra at home to Optus. Thank fark I didn’t.
According to the news it’s been caused by some type of upgrade issue. Not sure how an upgrade causes a whole blackout? I used to be with floptus 12 odd years ago and gave it away. And when they were hacked in 2022, received a letter saying my private details had been taken (along with many other peoples). Still have not heard a decent explanation as to why my details were still in their system when it shouldn’t have been. This latest tale starting this morning does nothing to enhance the govt’s and big business desire to push everyone onto the electronic payment system which is what the mobile networks are for.
The company have said the cause of the outage was due to a “technical issue”. Apparently a senate enquiry will be held sometime in the not too distant future. Hopefully that will supply answers?
Cockuptus up to their old tricks again. 5G ain’t working, as soon as my phone switches to 4G it works. If you are having that problem go into settings, connections, mobile networks, network mode and choose 4G/3G instead. Where is the mole in charge, taking a mental health break on a cruise ship?
Go on Gerry keep backing Optus and sell your customers phones and iPad’s and tablets with Optus.
Apparently floptus could be sold by the Singaporean parent company which is interested in off loading it. It’s been said Brookfield are interested in purchasing. They seem to have a finger in everything.
The sale to brookfield has come to a halt apparently. Old floptus parent company is now not interested. The sale price of 16 million has been mentioned. Obviously someone thinks that price is too low and brookfield not prepared to pay more. Not sure if another buyer is in the mix or not? Hope something positive happens because old floptus is a bit of a mess.
Still the biggest by far and just got much bigger. I recently returned to them . Had my own ODBS for just over a year but got sick of sitting around for 3 or 4 hours waiting for a job at the airport and all the bullshit that goes on there. Perth airport don’t give a fuck, DOT don’t give a fuck and taxi companies don’t give a fuck about poor driver behaviour. They pretend they do but in reality all they all care about is $$$.
I rarely go to the airport anymore except to drop. I don’t want to hang around with ignorant, uneducated, rude losers.
If you look at what’s happening around the world the days of getting a dirt cheap ride are numbered with governments everywhere bringing in laws to force these rideshare companies to properly compensate drivers for their services. The honeymoon is over. Ola has pulled out that didn’t surprise me one bit,was a poorly run Indian concern. Uber are arrogant mother fuckers and DiDi was pretty good but they stitched me up just before I went back to taxis. They are all unethical mother fuckers.
Don’t mean to get off topic although need to agree about the airport parking. Needed to wait for an arriving flight a couple of months ago and the cost of parking is astronomical. Puts a real dampener on the whole place! Then again motorists are being ripped off everywhere else so I suppose the airport may as well get in on the act.
We recently travelled over east for 8 days and being from York we used the long term parking which cost $90. Got the shuttle bus to and from the terminal door. heading off again in mid may for nearly 4 weeks and the Long term parking is $97, so not too shabby. Agree that the short term cost is exorbitant

You shouldn’t have to pay anything WAG. It’s signposted everywhere there is 1 hour free parking in the long term car parks. You shouldn’t need to be there any earlier but if you do just park outside the airport. Key is once you communicate with your family or friends you are picking up, make sure they have their luggage and are waiting in the pick up area so they are ready to jump in so you can get out within 6 minutes.
Before this number plate recognition time limit boomgate system was introduced, the public would go and sit in the drop off and pick up areas for anything from 5 minutes to half an hour and when we tried to drop people off there was nowhere to pull up alongside the curb.
Now with this system in place we don’t have that problem anymore.
