This squad needs to be trimmed to 15 for the World Cup in October but doesnt preclude someone coming in from outside the named squad abve.
Great to see new blood in Hardie and Sangha given a chance. The Notable omission of course being Marnus Labuschgne.

Thoughts?

drop Labuschagne and then select Warner
geez
do like seeing Sangha , Zampa , Hardie
is that Wes Agar ? he could be a rougher that one

and no Spencer Johnson either

No its Ashton Agar. Johnson is in the T20 squad that is playing matches in South Africa

The T20 squad looks more like a true T20 squad. Though Turner for Smith would suit me like more.

The ODI squad, as you say, takes out a few initially thought as Aust A possibilities for the up coming NZ series. Unless Marnus is a potential Aust capt, there is no way he should be near that Aust A squad. Agree re mix of Harris, Renshaw, Bancroft with Hunt,Ward, Kellaway, Wyllie etc. Perhaps Pucovski might get a look in, who knows?

No Richardson in either squad, so hopefully a cert for the Aust A side. Morris, Perry, Buckingham, Steketee and Paris perhaps. Murphy and Rocchiccioli as the spinners.

good that is something mate
if they’re talking a Warner why wouldn’t they also look at a Tim David
going to be a big early summer for some fringe players

actually I can imagine a David / Marsh opening act
maybe a David / Inglis one
go the hog and David / Maxwell up top

Warner’s a real shock selection.
Better openers in the BBL.With a lot higher strike rates.

I thought Bailey was quoted as saying they plan to open with Smith and Warner. Might as well get the old guys out of the way early so the real hitters can come in and post a decent score.

Wrapped for Mitch Marsh as Captain of the RSA Tour.
Hope the Nsw Blues give Mitch a chance. Before the knives go into the back of another, West Aussie.

Gtrx, Marsh is in the ODI squad but he is only Captain of the T20 team.
Cummins is captain of the 50 over part of the tour

Zampa?

In regards to Richardson he is injured as reported on Fox, FFS he did his Hammy in March and is still recovering???

West Australian bowler Jhye Richardson will miss the Cricket World Cup in India and potentially the start of the home summer as he continues recovering from hamstring surgery.

The 26-year-old, who has represented Australia in three Tests and 15 ODIs since his international debut in 2017, went under the knife in March after another suffering another frustrating injury setback.

He subsequently missed this year’s Indian Premier League, where he was set to represent the Mumbai Indians on a $270,000 contract, and the recent Ashes campaign in England.

However, speaking to reporters on Monday afternoon, chair of selectors George Bailey confirmed Richardson also won’t be available for the World Cup, which gets underway in October.

Four years ago, he was ruled out of the 2019 World Cup in England after sustaining a shoulder injury before the marquee tournament. “He’s really keen to get this right, and if that means taking a little bit of time at the start of this summer, then we’re happy to do that and Jhye’s happy to do that, so it’ll be a more calculated build for him as we go,” Bailey explained.“I don’t necessarily have an exact return to play date … from all reports, things are going well.

Mike that means Mitch Marsh will be Captain in India.T20 World Cup??
MM has replaced Aaron Finch in that role.

PH Jhye Richardson must have injured his hamstring tendon thus the surgery as we have had a few of those at Swans (Fisher, Bright) that have been out since April as well.

this is one diamond that has never had proper support or development - he’s gotten better and would be an absolute handful , and more , on some Test wickets
he could still have a bit of time left

Cam Bancroft gets a chance to push his test credentials by being selected for the Australia A team to play in Queensland in a few weeks. Josh Phillipe is in both red and white ball squads as well as Wes Agar and Matthew Kuenemann.
Looks a mix of youth and experience with Kellaway selected but no Teague Wylie in either squad.

This is a diversion from the World Cup I know but a very concerning result for the Australia A team in Queensland over the past few days. After a good first day they were absolutely taken to the cleaners by the NZ A team to the extent that they lost by over 200 runs. It is only one game I know but if this is a glimpse into the future of the Australian test team after the retirements of the age 30+ players in the current set up it paints a very disturbing picture for the next 5 years.

This is certainly not a full strength 2nd XI because many of the guys who would ideally get a look in are over in South Africa at the moment but it is disappointing all the same

mate with the C grade line up selected it really shouldn’t surprise much - not much chop to be honest

A pretty ordinary batting keeper at 6 and 5 bowlers…

Very unbalanced side and almost looked like it was put together with little respect to the opposition

I dont believe anyone who played (including Bancroft) is on the selectors radars long term.

I see Pukovski is making a comeback
