I see now the start date for EF to play at the “new” development has now been pushed back until the end of June.
This was said ages ago and it shits me that the club still was saying that May would be the date to play at the new facility. The surface is not up to scratch. Every man and his dog has been saying this for some time.
Going to need to be wearing the long studs at that joint in 2024 for those that play there. Does that mean since EF will be playing every game up until then away, every game from June on against EF will be at Belgravia Park?
If the ground won’t be up to scratch until then I can’t see it coping with 3 matches every weekend.
DD i would think they will play at either Fremantle oval or Leederville. I think the council are a joke and they have trained turf specialists but they still can not get it right. I was told they should have planted the grass back in September but it was seeded in november. I do not reckon it will be ready until next season. So thats 3 seasons without a ground we will go broke
MSS83 I thought the club was already broke, and as you say this isn’t going to help. Perhaps EF will be the savior of WCE in the WAFL and vice versa.
I just hate all the smiley FB updates from Andy the CEO about the status of the new digs, especially when the average Joe has posted updated pics on FB, showing the status of the oval in particular. Who is this fella Andy?

We will not align with west coast, i think we would rather go broke. This oval issue is not the clubs fault its the councils fault. I do not know what is next though no ground means no money

I actually think it was a back-handed compliment freez as the go fund me page was a brilliant initiative as far as I’m concerned. It gave an opportunity for past players, supporters, members and the entire WAFL family an opportunity to keep the club above water without going to the WAFC for a handout unlike WP and Peel.
True BC, hopefully Mel will start the fund with a donation of 4 cents then…

Looks like shit. Went into Fremantle today for lunch and drove past and took some not so happy snaps for shark supporters. And what I asked myself was, would you fit 1000 spectators in here? Nothing but sand on a bank next to the bowling green and at the opposite pocket to the pissy little grandstand is a bank covered in what has to be astro turf. It’s too perfect to be grass. Just look at the oval. Farrrk.

The surface looks perfectly fine to hold a motorcross event……. but maybe not so good to host a WAFL premiership points game.
