Moving time

Gee some real movement going on this year in the trade period.
Another name tossed up today, Jack Steele from the Saints.Looking for another club after being skipper season just gone.Formerly from the Giants.
Worpel want out from the Hawks.
A lot of movements.
A few names wanting out.Silvagni, Curnow, Petracca,Merrett, Draper, Steele, Worpel, Wehr,(GWS).Tom DeKoning.
Maybe Ainsworth.

Well Brandon Starcevich has made his intentions known, and coming from a family that has had a strong Royals connection,I obviously wish him well, but has anybody compared the head blow he received in the GF to Kai Lohmanns??Lohmann’s copped a severe knee to the head, which opened up a wound that required bandaging, but after the treatment he promptly returned back into the fray, and played out the rest of the game, while Starcevich’s collision in comparison, looked like a glancing blow, but was sufficient enough to put him out of the game.

@royallucky , Starcevich has had a concussion earlier this season and was out for some time I think. He was also concussed last year as well.
I woul dhave though the his blow was much more serious than the Lohmann one.
It took Starcevich a long time to regain his feet.
Just checked, three concussions in eight weeks for Starcevich.

I hope for his sake Anchor, his concussions are behind him,but I vividly recalled one of Sydney’s Paddy McCartins last games, before he was forced into premature retirement,he took a sliding mark at the SCG,and his head appeared to make minimal contact with the turf, but he got up Dazed and confused, and after the concussion protocols was taken out of the game, and I just don’t know how a persistent problem like that, can just go away.

@royallucky yeah one never can tell.
Hopefully he can be one of the lcuky ones who get by.
And I remember watching the McCartin incident.Very sad.

Would think Starcevich will permanently wear head protection, going fwd.
Great footballer and a duel premiership player.Fantastic in the preliminary v Collingwood.
But an incredibly risky pick up by Wcoast
Could be one head knock away from retirement.

@gtrxuone , helmets don’t work. Just a comfort thing. Proven they are not a safety from concussion.
They certainly are taking a massive risk taking him. You think they would have learn’t from the McGovern case.
Again, maybe another arrogant move thinking it will be all good.

I thought it risky too.
Not so bad, 2yrs x 2yrs x2yrs contract with get out clause for WCE at end of each contract. AFL picks up part payment of salary if he is medically retired.
Eases my mind a bit.

Anchorman this trade been on the table for over a year.
12 months ago was before the 3 concessions, picked up in 2025.
Eagles are desperate for quality footballers on the park.

@gtrxuone , maybe, but it there would not have been anything set in concrete.
I agree they need real footballers on the park, but bad management from the club has caused that.
They have been dealt
a winning hand from the AFL with this deal.
