Mike Hussey

Class act. GENUINELY going out on your on terms.

M. Hussey- One of the modern day greats with an ave of 51 & still clearly our 2nd best batsman on his retirement at 37. He saved us more times than I can remember coming in at 3 or 4 for not many to give us a decent total to bowl to. Can barely remember ever him dropping a catch in the field either. His retirement now leaves a massive hole in our middle order but its time for a Khawaja or someone to finally step up to the mark & show us all something with an Indian tour & 2 Ashes series back to back coming up in the next 12 months!

All the best in retirement Mr Cricket.

Maybe it as his drop catch the other week in Big Bash…

I dont really watch that crap mike I much prefer real cricket- (Test cricket)!

Yup…100% wif ya there BH

I am genuinely disappointed that the Huss has decided to up stumps.
I don’t usually like to use the term great for many players, but I consider him able to me mentioned in those terms.
How often were the chips down, and in comes the Huss and gets us out of the mire.
He was a pleasure to watch in all aspects of the game.Has to be considered a great fieldsman as well.Very seldom dropped a catch and took some absolute blinders in the gully and slips.
Never met the guy,but seems like a truly genuine bloke.I bet he would have been fun in the rooms after the game.
Good luck to him for what ever he takes on from here on.

Played pennant squash against him years ago. Complete team man, even though it was a sport he used to keep his eye and reflexes “in”. Respectful of the game, his team mates. No “attitude” issues at all.

A great interview today and well worth a listen with his Dad.

Tells you a few things about Mike in his younger days and his rise to a Test cap.
Very enjoyable and a great insight into this great player. click on link

Funny isn’t it…if people don’t like something they call it crap…hmmmmm. Takes away the theory of live and let live doesn’t it??? Still, I guess, to each their own. But back to the Huss. I can understand his retiring. Family is always a strong pull of heart strings and after all, he is 37. Still, I can’t see anyone capable of filling his shoes at this point.
