Michael Randall

Confirmed on WAFL World tonight that Michael has moved back to Mandurah and has called time on his WAFL career.
Lost the passion for WAFL it seems.
I liked the look of him early on but must admit that I thought he had dropped away a bit over the last couple of games.
It seems that PFC may not have been completely devastated by the decision and may have even supported his decision.
To free up points.
Maybe a late recruit on the horizon?

That really pisses me off. Investment down the drain. Doesn’t mind pissing off WAFL clubs does he? 5 days for Doddy to find a replacement. Let’s hope he’s got 1 or 2 up his sleeve.

R&B I think that there may already be something in the pipeline.
It sounded like there was.
Not sure.

Just listened to it sounds like Randall played at South Mandurah on the weekend. Hopefully that means he advised the club soon after the win over Swans the week before and Dodd has an able replacement or two lined up. Randall was a 7 point player. We could ask for James Ewing back from WCER on a permit but he has missed more than he’s played this year through injury. Out until rnd 15 with a leg injury.

I reckon he’d be happy to return if all else fails.

James Ewing ?
You’re kidding aren’t you. Recruiting Randall was always a huge risk. Gee there are a lot of players apparently losing their “passion” to play WAFL. Nothing to do with being dropped of course. I noticed that Dellamarta didn’t play reserves against Swans after he was dropped from the league side. Is he another who has lost his passion. I hope not.

I am sorry for you at Perth seems we let you recruit another player like Coolaid. I would have predicted an early departure. Maybe the mandurah district doesn’t have the same level of testing!

I know that Schlensog was fantastic as the sole ruckman against Swans.
But with Edwards seemingly gone for the season, I wonder if they have something in mind?
For insurance maybe?
I know he is not on the injury list, but a stress fracture in the back?
Unless it was precautionary?

James Ewing was a casualty of the points penalty. An experienced defender. Just saying if “all else fails” finding another replacement perhaps we could get him back. Was sent to WCER on a permit.

Randall is going to be hard to replace being that big bodied inside mid with good skills. Nothing in our reserves to replace that. Thorne probably comes in. Cachard probably the obvious one who spends more time in the midfield.

Quite bizarre Edwards is off the injured list. Was showing as rnd 12.

Round 12 is Saturday.
It must have been precautionary maybe.
We’ll see if he is selected tonight.

Brodie Gray the replacement. Has been super loyal. Can smash a pack and gets plenty of it. Passionate too. Just dish off the handballs.

When I spoke to him at the Swans game he told me 8-10 weeks. Must have visited a miracle worker since.

I notice Dellamarta selected for this week in the Ressies.

Very strange that we have had so many walk outs this year. Broadbent, Clark, Stubbs, Coniglio and now Randall. Not often that a best 22 player would walk out when we are a chance of making finals. I note Thorne didn’t play league or reserves today - not another one?

Very disappointing that players won’t honour their commitment. Our reserves were looking pretty strong at the start of the season, but will now struggle to make finals. More importantly, there is a lack of pressure on the league team. With injuries mounting, Stubbs, Clark and Cogs would have been in line for a few league games and our depth is being tested.

Interesting comments from Mark Stone before the game. Readings asked about Michael Randalls’ departure. Mark said he’d known about it for a few weeks and went down to Mandurah to talk about it with him. Apparently has some challenges around travel (lives in Mandurah) and employment.

Then said he’s still on our list and playing down there on a permit and we’ll see how he goes. Said he might change his mind and come back at some stage.
