According to the Melbourne media, Mason Cox is on the radar for Fremantle.Discarded by Collingwood, could be a good fit as a stand by for Freo if either Darcy or Jackson are out for a few weeks.

if played due to injuries, would give Fremantle a tall target up forward. Good mark, good kick for goal.
Apparently has a good relationship with Longmuir. I am undecided on this. He was a very good player a few years ago but he looked like he was struggling in his last year at Collingwood

I don’t see him as a full time time member of the team, but a stand by.
If nothing else he will be a bit of a personality in the WAFL.

Would be a good mentor for Nichills and Riddle as well.
Gee a backward step IMHO, cant see him as a mentor ( especially as a ruckman), poor mark, given a man of his height. Gets out bodied easily, and once ball hit ground yer down a man. 90% hype ( as in commentators etc love the USA connection etc)..had one outstanding game in a final against Richmond years ago.
He will dominate in the WAFL though

Cox will be 35 next March…his VFL stats aren’t even special…will not know what’s hit him playing down at Rushton…not sure what Freo are doing here…but good luck to the fella I guess.

In a lot of years watching, being involved and loving the WAFL, this is by far and a way the dumbest thing!

The Dockers have had a historical tendency to overlook WAFL talent over past years BC. I remember first seeing Darcy Cameron running around for Claremont as a youngster and thinking that he would be worth a go at Fremantle

Confirmed. Two year rookie contract for the big Texan. Should be a good sideshow and bring a bit of attention for the WAFL. Will give Scott Jones someone to look up to.
