Lions v Royals

My inside information is that the Royals are not letting their guard down. They’ve noticed subi’s improvements over the last few weeks.

I conclude that we have no chance to win but should be competitive.

re we getting back any of the injured guys yet like Locks or Foley? I assume they would have a couple of games in the magoos if they are ready. The game against Cl was a much improved effort but I think the Ferals, when switched on are a stronger proposition. I’m sure they will be after kicking themselves out of the win v Souths. Maybe the wet will be a bit of a leveller given we lack height and the footy will be on the ground most of the day.

They are back round 14 SS. You would assume through the magoos. Hopefully we can cause an upset or two in the latter part of the season

I thought Leederville was ripped up and replaced with drainage and new turf? Looks as bad as it’s ever been. Well done Subi and Swans today keeps my team in the fight for a top 3 spot.

damaging loss for the Royals here for sure
big win by Subiaco

Gutsy win. Where the hell has Siano been hiding??

Well played on your victory tonight, Subiaco, you played far smarter wet-weather footy, whereas East Perth again unfortunately over-possessed the ball.
The Lions’ third quarter when the rain came was top-notch and they were far more accurate than the Royals, who had the goalkicking yips for the second week in a row (and another 10-point loss).
Subi also had some quality defenders when it came to out-marking East Perth’s tall forwards, although it wasn’t really a night for great marks, except for Sebit Kuek’s pearler midway through the final quarter.
It makes victory against Swans at Bassendean next week imperative for the Royals, although after their magnificent win at Shark Park today, Swans will probably go into that game as favourites.

You found one there mate. Kid looks like he can play.

I’m liking the pace were getting from shearer, mott, tenge, and Siano today.

Braut was best on ground. Giro excellent. The lights were even better on those conditions

Just jumped online to check the score and thought i was seeing things! That is 2 unexpected results this week. Are the royals going wobbly at the knees? Perhaps the weather should be like this more on game days? Their match next week is going to be interesting.

Credit where it’s due and that was a great effort in trying conditions. I thought our work around the contested ball was terrific and work rate very good.

I liked the game of the youngsters in Burke and Siano plus Braut gives us a presence down back we didn’t have earlier in the season.

Nice work all round and credit to the players efforts in comparison to games against Swans and Souths.

I forgot Burke. Real promise there.

Great team effort against quality opposition, this has been built off 2 good performances against Freo and CL. Despite Jones expected dominance our mids played to his tapwork and more than evened the midfield battle. We had better numbers around the contest where Clark, Hickmont and Schoey did really well. The youngsters are showing a bit, Sciano has been kicking a few in the ressies so great that he was able to make the stepup without too much fuss, Senge also looked very comfortable at this level. Liked Gathercoles game as well, his intercept spoil with the follow up goal was 1st class. The whole team was switched on and really took the game on which they should as they have nothing to lose. great to have the beast back his presence has been sorely missed plus his disposal by both feet was excellent given the conditions.
Yes the ground is suffering from consistent rain and over use with two teams playing and training on it. Needs to be managed better with both clubs looking at an alternate training venue for at least 1 night each a week, especially in the depths of winter.
Sharks next week at Leedy, they will be fuming after dropping an expected W v the Ducks, so will be a super hard game.

Yes mate he looks the goods, great debut

How the heck did Subi do that? EP pretty good outfit, could still be a few upsets for the top 5 to come.
