Lions v Bulldogs at Subi

Winning form is good form so I wouldn’t think there would be any changes. Reserves players bashing down the door but I think they may need to wait another week? Not sure where Kitch is at?

Coogee if any, Maxy has to start doing a bit more, Will H has to hit targets more often. Alone, although had the toughest job on probably the best mid in the WAFL meadows, couldn’t stop him and was moved and Kentfield came off injured

Yes DG…if Kentfield doesn’t get up then Mayo is the obvious replacement. Alone only had 5 touches last week but laid a game high 8 tackles which in the forward half is outstanding. Mayo for Kentfield would be my only change.

Agree that Alone brings a toughness to Subi. Can’t be much fun playing against him. Damaging left foot, too.

mayo in for kentfield…tick
kitch (if fit) in for alone?
it is healthy to have selection ‘problems’ at the table

Kitch was apparently a hamstring so normally 3 weeks… add a week if over 30 yrs? Stats are not everything so leave Alone alone.
Mayo shouldn’t do any rucking and Kentfield was filling in there, so is there another option ?

i agree 100% …alone should stay as he is a beast at the contest and meadows was not influential at all…just wondering who drops out if kitch comes back? not sure how southie is going in the ressies…is he an option if kentfield is out injured? from what i hear mayo will not be rucking at anytime. as mentioned i wouldnt make any changes unless they are forced through injury which maybe kentfield?

I like Alone and agree he should keep his spot. The fact remains he was moved off meadows and replaced by Liam H, for a reason. Snadden, Stainsby, Ash and Kitch when available, keeping the pressure on

Kentfield was pinch hitting in the ruck in the forward 50, occasionally in the middle, so if Mayo comes in, I think he can cover for Borch so he can do that support ruck job. Kentfiels is 194 and 93k, Borch is 190 and 84k but has a big leap. Given the mids have been doing a good job, I’d give Kitch the extra week off, although souths get a few back this week including Matty Parker who had a day out in the ressies last week.

Robbins and alone omitted…farkwits!

It looks like Stainsby coming in for Heal who must have an injury. Robbins and Alone out for Snadden and Faraone which I’m not happy with.

And…robbins out and alone out. For snadden and faroane. Two unlikes for 2 unlikes.

Agree BC , good news Kentfield has gotten over whatever injury he sustained last week,
bad news Heal injured or rested? Alone and Robbins were applying good forward line pressure? Will Farone and Snadden bring that same pressure? Farone deserves chance as he has been a regular goal kicker in the reserves this year and Snadden had a heap of possessions last week, but did Alone and Robbins deserve to be dropped from a winning team?

I feel they weren’t jjim and I think their youthful vigour was a bonus. Both quite physical. We’ll see what happens. If it doesn’t go well, get them back in.

Agreed JL. I’d sooner have either one of them in ahead of Snadden who promises a lot but so far hasn’t delivered.

A good win. Thought we’d blown it with poor conversion. Hard to pick best players. Maybe Clark, hickmonts, Schofield. Thought Golding did well. Backline good all day.

Young blokes dropping off a bit. Sainsbury a good return. Not sure about snadden. He competed well. Robbins and alone looked good in reserves.

Not a great performance but a W in the results column is a good thing. The Hickmotts were very good, Maxy better this week, McGowan hard at it but made a few mistakes, Giro worked hard and I also thought Dewar and Schofield both had solid games.

Kentfield did some good things but needs to get more of it and Snadden just doesn’t work hard enough for mine with just 9 touches on a wing. A solid win without being great like the previous two weeks.

I think the conditions were a bit tricky with rain overnight and very much a pressure game. I reckon it’s time for Mayo to come in as he had another good game in the two’s.

Not the best game but a wins a win. Let them back in but did well to stop their run and turn it around when they hit the lead late in the game. We were the better team on the day. Berenger was good on miller and Golding was strong throughout. Big james for sf is a good young ruckman!
