Kelmscott Football Club need a ban.

5 or 6 years ago they were an A grade team and got kicked out for having too many Red Cards, dirty players, etc. Now they are down in C5, getting pumped by 100+ points a week and fighting everyone. They have had multiple cards every fixture this season and in 1 game they had 2 reds, 3 yellows and their coach suspended for 2 rounds.

The Waafl then used then as advocates against 1 punch attacks which is strange as cowardly dog hits are their bread and butter.

Now on the weekend after one of their players copped a heavy tackle they decided to be retaliate with dog hits, stompings and taking shirts off and act like animals.

This is a sad situation. If what you say is true a ban is definitely in order

Seems like it’s a case of the same shit from a few years ago returning.
Should never of been allowed back into amateurs after being booted a few years ago.

Watch the club do absolutely nothing about this.

That was more than a heavy tackle. Needed a red card for that tackle.

The video is on the page. Twice the size, he knew what he was doing.

I hope your not saying that the heavy tackle was the problem in the video… at least it was a “football action”. I do agree that the tackle was heavy and warranted a card of its own however, what isnt warranted is the following acts by the Kelmscott players;

  1. 1st Kelmscott player drives knees into Baldivis player’s back whilst on floor
  2. 1st Kelmscott player king hits player in back of head whilst on floor
  3. 1st Kelmscott player swears at everyone around him, including club umpires
  4. 2nd Kelmscott player comes out of no where looking for confrontation
  5. 2nd Kelmscott player rips his jumper off and barks like he is about to fight at the local traino
  6. 3rd Kelmscott player kicks Baldivis player whilst on the floor
  7. 2nd Kelmscott player returns and shoves club umpire out of the way

ALL of this is caught on video.

If the PFL doesnt do anything about it, I hope I never hear about them struggling to get umpires into the league as the problem is now directly in front of their face.

Not at all, was pointing out that it was more than a “heavy tackle” as stated. nothing more, nothing less. Certainly do not condone the retaliation.

Doesn’t look good for Kelmscott when you look at the footage. It’s pretty eye opening when players you know are genuinely concerned to head down to their ground to play footy as they question their own safety.

Now hang on hang on!!.. let’s just all take a deep breath. YES the kelmscott player was out of hand for dropping the knee and acting like ufc fighter. We don’t want to see that at any level of our game. Obviously acted in the heat of the moment and didn’t like to see his own player get tackled to the ground like that, he needed to control his emotions a bit better ( but when these things happen who does? ). I think the PFL needs to send a strong message to all clubs to demonstrate that these tackles are very dangerous these days, and should automatically be two weeks suspension and a fine for the club! The baldivis player could of dropped his knees and bought him down but chose to sling tackle the kids head to the ground NOT Acceptable!!! The kelmscott player came in on emotions after seeing his team mate go down and stepped in to help in a way that he shouldn’t have definitely NOT acceptable… We are all now watching the 6pr video asking ourselves why are the supporters acting like galahs!!! We that’s called the domino affect, and for that you get this end result of everyone carrying on like idiots all because of a tackle that could of been prevented.

What about the 2nd and 3rd players that join in on the field?

What about the fact that this is a regular occurance with Kelmscott and that this just happens to be the first one that has made it out on video?

PS - completely agree that the dangerous tackles need to be taken out of the game!

The Kelmscott player got straight back up, no damage at all. H let go of him mid swing, didnt throw his own body into it. Agree though should of been a send off, maybe 1 week but what happens after is shite, bit of push and shove is one thing but thats not on.

Ok,
It is always interesting to see peoples reactions when they see a snippet or “selected” portion of an event, and when they have knowledge of the entire event it can change perspective completely.

The Kelmscott players in question are facing the tribunal and have also received club sanctions for their actions, “Bringing the club into disrepute” and will likely not play again at the club.
The 16 year old junior player who received the sling tackle from a much bigger and stronger Baldivis player, received concussion from the incident and has been given a 3 week suspension by the Umpires. He was also up for a junior association award, his family do not want him to play footy again, and the PFL has told Kelmscott they recommend the club not play juniors any more.
The Baldivis player who laid the sling tackle, had earlier on in the game punched another much smaller Kelmscott player in the face, leaving him with serious concussion and he has also decided that due to the knocks in the head he has received he will stop playing footy as well, ( the player wears a helmet). The umpires did not witness the incident so could not take any action.
All in all put the game in context and you will have a totally different perspective. Yes I was there, was I biased? I am trying to be as unbiased as possible in this. I think if you were even a Baldivis supporter you would cringe at some of the tactics that were put on display during the game, unless you are a thug as well.

The Baldivis player will face the tribunal for the sling tackle, I believe.

Kelmscott were behind all day, however the fitness of their younger players was rattling Baldivis.
Kelmscott had total control of the game in the last half, and likely would have gotten over the line, if this incident didnt happen in the last quarter.

Anyway the club is also put on notice and will likely have to play the remainder of the season with both hands tied behind their backs.

Wow, sounds like your making excuses for their shithouse behaviour which has gone on for years. It’s the “but I’m the victim” mentally your playing here that’s dangerous. The player got up after the tackle, what happens after is just filthy. No reason to ever stud, cheap shot, knee, coward punch a guy because he did a rough tackle, then carry on like dickheads.

Hi Keldog

Few very interesting comments from you. If a player was punched behind the play and concussed as mentioned by you why didn’t your club put in a notice of investigation? Every club offical knows about this process. You have until 12pm Monday to do it!

The rest of your comments are shit and can’t believe you try to justify this crap

They didnt get kicked out of A grade for too many red cards, they simply finished at the bottom of the ladder and were relegated. It wasnt long after that they they could not field two teams and were then playing in the metro comp I believe before returning to the PFL a couple of seasons ago.

Kelmscott player was only 16.
he has no recollection of the game at all and pleaded guilty at tribunal on the video presented. He apologised and was given 3 week’s suspension. Baldivis player got 2 years suspension as a repeat offender for his actions. Not making any excuses but Baldivis have copped massive fines and are in a lot of trouble from their own video of the game which the PFL watched. You all only seen a snippet and a reaction. The 3 1/2 quarters before that caused the reaction.
just saying

Was it the player suspended for 2 yrs the Baldivis player who wears the helmet ?
