Good news to hear about Billings :cheer: Now what would make it even better would be to see Zucca back on the track. However if he doesn’t want to be there then fine, thanks for the service over the years Zucca but if you’re not commited then have fun whatever it is you’re doing.
I too was surprised how tall the squad looked when I was at training in December. I knew who some of the new recruits were but others was unsure of.
I hope we can surprise a few teams aswell this year 1961. It’s always great to have a beer upstairs after a home win :cheer:
Good work 1961 and good to hear that Bills is on the track.
I too have found it difficult to identify players at training unless you get to see them up close. The white singlets and caps make it hard to see who is who at a distance.
My understanding is that training is on Mon, Wed and Frid and then also Sat for those who missed a session during the week and those who wish to do extra work. One session I attended I did not (or could not) see Jacobs and Moody. If they were not training they would no doubt made up for it on Saturday.
I spose some players will be working late during the week to potentially compensate their training and playing workloads during the season proper. Hence why some maybe training on Sundays and missing one training session during the week.
Moody is definitely training and looking pretty good, he was there tonight. I haven’t seen Jacobs at training but I don’t think there’s any cause for alarm. Julian and his girlfriend introduced themselves to me in the park opposite my home before Xmas because they wanted to know about my dog that I was walking. I was a stranger to them but I made it obvious that I recognised him and that I was a “long suffering demon”. Anyway Julian confirmed that he is working FIFO at the moment but should be right for the season. He said he tries to keep himself very fit and this scenario was also reiterated by someone I spoke to at training a week or so ago. So at this stage I don’t think there’s any concern.
Busher is still not in full training, he’s always at training but I understand that he is restricted to weights and swimming for approx another 4 weeks. Young Houghton still had his forearm bandaged tonight and I’ve no idea of the seriousness of the injury. Chance Bateman looks in terrific nick and I’ve been lead to understand that Kyle Reimers makes his first appearance at this Wednesday nights training session.
Cheers for the update 1961, it’s all sounding good. Hopefully for the team’s and Haydn’s sake that he can get on the field for atleast 15 games this year. I may be rating him high but fully fit and providing he plays up forward can easily kick 50 in my opinion. Kicked 29 two years ago.
The only key defender i would take from Peel(and he doesnt have a common surname) is James Flaherty,ex Bendigo Captain and made Full Back in the team of the year in the VFL a couple of years ago.
