According to the press today the Toasters are after Aaron Sandilands.

If it is true and and they are after him, it tells me one thing.The Toasters are saying" we can’t win the flag this year with the ruckmen we have.We will win it if we can get Sandi in a Yella jumper."
According to sportsfm this story can be traced back to Melbourne. I think the guys days in the AFL are numbered and put no stock in what is simply a “story”. Perhaps the WAFL could be a good way to ease himself out of footy. Maybe a return to the Sharks at the ripe old age of 36 beckons!

Why on earth does it tell you the Eagles are saying “ we can’t win the flag this year with the ruckman we have”.
For me it tells me the Eagles are looking at options for the 2019 season in case Lycett goes.
Reckon Rory Lobb would be more likely on the Eagles radar than Sandilands who is 36 next year and how many games has he played in the past 3 years?

As 30 plus said there’s a strong chance of Lycett not being there next year and that leaves Vardy as the only ruckman on the list for a club that should still be right in a premiership window. Makes sense to me, absolutely no point in the big fella dressing in purple next year they have an abundance of young ruckmen and Darcy needs to be the focus from here onwards. The Eagles could give him a season on not much money and see if they could squeeze something more out of his body that Ross has just about squeezed to death and maybe he could play finals.
Ofcourse it will never happen though.

As the resident Freo troll I’ll add my 2 cents. Makes sense, I wouldn’t be surprised if both sandilands and Zac Clarke end up at WCE in 2019. Clarke has been able to string a season together at Subiaco, many of the Freo die hards will tell u how much better than natanui this guy was going to be… Maybe a new club is what he needs… Freo have a funny way of doing things.
I reckon lycett will go, get home games only out of Sandi and u could do a lot worse. On the other hand cant see Sandi playing for anyone else.

Interesting you seem to have a perverse sense of supply and demand. Assuming this story had a scintilla of truth (and it doesn’t) surely Sandi would demand an almost virtual blank cheque to move to the Eagles for 2019.
I reckon you could be onto something re Clarke tuggers. He has been terrific for Subi and could play a stop gap role together with Vardy until the human dunny brush returns. After the Beags stole Callum Sinclair from Subi I wouldn’t put anything past the pricks.
