Today showed what they are capable of even without something like 6 top players on the injury list. Unfortunately, it seems that they can’t follow up. Next week they’ll probably get smacked again. Whatever, I’ll still be with them when they win their next flag which should be 5-7 years time.
Was that for Dom and Gov, or being shamed by a young kid telling them how ordinary a team they are!.
They played really well today, even some of the older bludgers stepped up.![]()

5-7 years time…ultra optimistic i reckon 58Shark!
Shows that if an AFL team is 5% off on their attitude, they can be surprised by anyone. I was at the MCG yesterday and the Bulldogs very nearly had their finals hopes torpedoed by a desperate Demons team. Nearly another victim of the sacked coaches syndrome!!
No Unk, not over the top optimism - realistic. As much as you Eagles haters hope they will never get back, they will. And it won’t take us 31 years. Still angry about ‘92 & ‘94 after all this time? Heavens, that’s ancient history. ![]()

Nahh eags deserved 92 nd 94, im happy wth the 4 since 2007.
Too many teams getting early draft pricks and acadamy picks…look at North a gazzlion top 10 picks and still battling.
Eags got a glorifed walf side, and a crap resverves side …that wont turnaround in a short amount of time.
Hey Sharky, 92 Freo only came in the view of the AFL. Just to stop the Eagles from becoming a power. There was NO Fremantle.
94 almost the same, they didn’t even have a squad.
Surely you are TTP.
In the 18 team AFL competition.Bottom has never beaten top.
Eagles looked up and running in the 3rd qtr.Midfielders had plenty of space. The consern was turnover of the footy.
Crows look a little slow through the midfield on a bigger ground. They will need a wet September to win the flag.
Agree with you on the picks, it’s gone whacko. As for the Eagles priority pick, I hope they get it….for the obvious reason. However, I don’t think they should be given one. They’re not all that far away from their last flag and now there’s very small glimpses of improvement. Give it another year and see.
Not sure what your point is. No idea what TTP is.
Yup agree ( shock horror) 58Shark,hey who ya tip for the flag??
This is where we make a dick of ourselves isn’t it, but for me…. Geelong to beat Freo in a tight one.
I’ll go Adeliade to beat Lions.
Taking the p*55.
92/94, I am sure there is a Freo person that would be worried. We were, as the old saying goes, even a spark in the AFL sight.
If you check the record books, Freo were given the same concessions as WCE except they had an idiot called Neesham heading up the team and he decided his Claremont team was capable of competing at AFL level. He also opted not to take people like Andrew McLeod.
The reason Freo took so long to get going was it took years to undo all of the shit Neesham created. He was a deadset peanut.
That was the agreement pre getting the qheque. They changed the rules.
Maybe Viper but by then the WAFL was a shadow of the comp it was when the Eagles started. look at WCE’s first two premierships, basically a WA state side I think only Shane Bond and the big ruckman forward ex PA can’t think of his name were outside of WA in the 94 side.
Yes Neesham had massive blindspots because of his faith in his ex Claremont players.
Think you need to check. Wasn’t a state side at all. 1993 was the most of amount of WCE players selected and that was 14. Go and check how many of those were in the first draft.
The vics were given full access to WA then WCE were allowed to take what was left.
Reality is WCE just drafted well after the initial intake and all the ones the Vics opted not to take they pounced on.
The Yellas were gifted under 17s, no club was allowed to touch them.Fremantle from memory got none.
