Injury List

[quote=“Cesspit post=235904 userid=1215”]If we ever get a chance to play our full strength side this season it may look something like this.

Coniglio Johnstone Taylor.
Avery Schlensog Manzone.
Davis Thompson Simpson.
Stubbs Chaplin Wills.
Kemp A.Clarke Quartermaine.
Edwards Constable Byrne.
Int. Cooley Sing R.Clarke Scoble or J.Cark depending on conditions and opponent.

Provisos… Q to sharpen up his set shots. He kicks the difficult shots but butchers the set shots. Aussie Davis to smarten up his deliveries to targets. Johnstone to stick his marks as he did last week.
Not convinced by Kemp. Perhaps Regan Clarke should play deeper in the forward line.
Sog gradually catching up on form. He must play with more intent and confidence.

If we could keep that team fully fit and in form we should be able to take on all-comers.

I agree Smokey, he did not look out of place.
That is the one good thing to come out of this season.
A number of young players have had a chance for some development.
It needs to be an ongoing thing, instead of playing spuds for 100 odd games.
At least we now have someone who can identify promise.

Daniel Hill is a talent that needs to be nurtured. He is only a season and a half out of colts. If that’s not young I don’t know what is. Was a star in the opening game against Subi where he played out of his skin in the last qtr when the game was up for grabs. He is in my best 22.

Zac Moody apparently sustained the same syndesmosis injury that Charlie Constable sustained when he played in a community game after serving the last 3 weeks of his 4 week suspension from the NTFL. Has had surgery and due back in 3-4 weeks. Not sure why Constable is suddenly off the injured list. He was taking one of the groups at quarter time.

According to the injury list Avery is available next week against Claremont.

An one know why Constable was taken off the injury list or how long he’ll be out for?

I posted 9 days ago Constable was updated to 6 weeks so it’s a mystery why he’s been taken off it. He was there on the weekend in civies no moon boot and took one of the groups. Was talking with Simpson after the game.

Maybe Constable is a quick healer and is back this weekend- we’ll see when teams drop tonight

Constable and Simpson should play in some form next week. Both training tonight. Simpson’s been ill.

Avery straight back in - Surprising after missing so much. Q train dropped. No way should Constable or Simpsom play without Ressies time for mine. Avery probably in the same basket

Avery playing reserves this week. Only change is Cachard in for Q.

AJ pulled the plug? Or just not getting selected?

Plug

Goodbye Jane lol

2024 recruits games missed so far.

Schlensog- missed first 3.
Constable- missed 6 and 3/4 of a game and counting
Simpson - missed 7 and counting
Clarke- missed 5
and add to that
Avery- missed whole season so far - playing reserves tomorrow.

And we’ve had 3 byes in all of this including the state game so you can add 3 weeks to all of those except Schlensog.

By contrast Swans two big name recruits Rokahr and Chalcraft have played all 9 games and represented WA in the state game. Swans sit in fifth spot, we are last yet we defeated Swans when near full strength only missing Schlensog and Avery. Went down hill from that game. Lost Clarke and Simpson from that game and Constable the week after against EP.

Have we even had Clarke, Simpson and Constable play in the same team yet? Don’t think so.

We get the Cameron Loersch-Damon White-Braydn Ainsworth Award every season. All over before it began.

Swans do it well with interstate recruits. They get Smart. If only we hadn’t rebuffed Phil when he offered to join us.

Dazz pretty sure Clarke, Constable and Simpson have.

Is our recruiting due diligence and selection being questioned here?
These guys shouldn’t have been recruited because they’re injury prone??

has Phil Smart’s recruiting prowess won them a Premiership yet?

Lots of things contribute to premierships. True though, no premiership (yet) on Phil’s watch.

Phil Smart is par excellence when it comes to WAFL recruiting. Name me anyone at any other club that comes close to his ability to get quality recruits to Swans?

You may be right, our recruits might have been together for the EP game but we have had no luck getting our best on the field. What’s new I guess?

Dazz it seems to me that having recruited these good players, we have simply been cursed by bad luck.
I may be wrong.
If I am wrong, it would seem that we have again recruited injury prone players.
