Haselby The Season and The Club and the Future

The presidents statements that he was prepared to lose 20 games was outrageous, but to be honest I will now not be surprised if we do in fact lose 20 games.

We are undermanned for various reasons, but so are a lot of other sides.

I am also digusted that the club has allowed Hasleby to wander up to Northampton to grab a few extra quid, while the club has had its worst start to a season since 1965.

I beleive the board is not taking the club in the right direction and warning signs are now becoming concerning.

My question is, should the team lose the next two matches and moreover 20 games straight, do they support the presidents and his support of Haselby?

SF wont lose 20 Straight. We just got out Jail with them and a couple of others they failed to finish off. Not as bad as they look and anyone who takes them lightly will regret the day.

You blokes almost beat Subiaco. It might seem like doom and gloom but I think you are a lot better then 0-6. You should be more like 2-4 or possibly even 3-3. You’ve got some good young players and some are out injured. Get another 20-30 games into those younger players and another preseason or two then you should be alright.

Whilst it is not possible to replicate what Todd did at Swans in the latter part of the 70s when he built a team which competed in four out of five GFs and won a hattrick of premierships, it is pertinent to mention that for the first three years we won about three games each season. I have not seen enough of Souths this season to know whether they are heading in the right directio. However, it is not necessarily the best indicator to just go on wins and losses. Rebuilding a team necessarily means that during that transition period there will be some pain. From a WAFL perspective it is important that all WAFL supporters support their team during the good and bad times.

Seems very surprsing to me that the club has spent alot of money on football but still remains winless and then for the coach to take off and play a few games up North is even stranger. Taking the piss me thinks!.

Exactly

no doubt that includes Peel and EP fans too 42?..

I can tell you now if Hase goes up north to play footy whilst SF are 0/6…no AFL club will want to go to near the fella…side sitting last on the table and Hase feels the need to relive his Gero heritage…surely not?

Those clubs no longer exist from A WAFL point of view.

who’s to say Peel and EP aren’t going thru a rough patch with some poor decision making 42…what happens if Peel and EP decide to remerge from the merger?..still wearing their respecive colours from memory…so are you saying EF and SD didn’t lose those games to EP and Peel then?..

what a f?cked up club we have become…& so quick. who would have believed that only 18-months ago we finished 4th??? f?ck me 8th would b good atm…

See Hase kicked a lazy 4 goals for Northampton on the weekend in their come from behind win v Brigades…a strong Brigades side to boot as well!

Gee with that sort of form freeze maybe Old Easts Ressies team might look at giving Hase a game as Northampton is in your zone ..im sure he could fit that in with coaching the Puppies League side!!

SFFC,

I would be quite buoyed about your club strangely enough, I reckon most other clubs will be smarting this time next year. Souths are not a bad side, just give it some time, you will beat the Ferals to kick it off !

I tend to disagree Bazza. Souths have not been playing all that badly. As for losing 20 straight, not sure why you’re thinking along those lines? They took it right up to Claremont in Week 1. It was unfortunate, I think Saunders? came off the ground early in the third with a bad leg injury. It was then that Souths fell away and Claremont took control. Had he not been injured the final result could easily have been different. Souths have not lost by huge margins (except Claremont and Subiaco). I wouldn’t panic Southerners. The team will be up and about in no time.

see ur way of thinking lil weed…but as a die hard & a long time member/supporter im not prepared to chuck away a season @ any cost… im sure i am
not the only one thinking that way???

am i??

Its not me that mentioned the figure of losing 20 straight, it was the president which was the entire thrust of my post.

why a president would come out and say something as stupid as that is beyond belief.

Im glad he’s kicking goals somewhere - because he sure aint kicking many at south at the mo.

Persona non grata as far as I am concerned.

What do you mean?

Why does a bloke who owned racehorses, pubs, and make a fortune from footy, have to chase a buck up North?. Like a punt Hase?
