Apparently the latest brainwave from the boffins at HQ is to permanently move the grand final to sometime in August.
Not sure of the point?
Probably means an earlier start to the season with the current 18 matches? I’ve not remembered an August grand final in previous years?
Given the scant regard given to the Wafl competition nowadays, absolutely nothing surprises me in the football world!
We could see the change next season or the one after.
The Eagles and Fremantle won’t allow it. It means their players won’t be able to play in the WAFL during AFL finals. Though that’s not been a problem for the Eagles for a while.

As opposed to Freo playing in a ton of finals hey RnB? 2022 is the only time since 2015 they have played finals.

Apparently the wafl clubs and concerned parties are meeting either this week or next. As yet nothing concrete and is only a ‘proposal’. And as usual the footy public will have notification when details are done, dusted and ready.
No WAFL footy in September would be a bit sad.
Only being discussed and a long way off at this stage, not that big a deal.
lets focus on season 2025, shaping up to be an interesting race for finals spots.
I’d doubt that the WAFC will deprive Victoria of a feeder league for their dogshit product
if they do it’ll be the first time in 30 years they’ve shown any portion of a ball bag big enough to be relevant
