Freo V Carlton

Pleasing result for the Dockers yesterday which once again highlighted the fact that the young players like Cerra, Giro, Brayshaw, Cox and Ryan are all great prospects. I have to say though that the first half performance by the Carlton team was close to the most abysmal effort I have seen from an AFL team in an hour of footy. Fyfe and Neale must have thought it was christmas with all the space and time they were given to gather possessions at will. You can only beat whats put out in front of you though and Freo did it well. The game tightened up a bit after half time but the horse had well and truly bolted by that stage.
Interesting that Rhys Palmer who was delisted by the Blues last year sent out a tweet this morning making comments about club culture which seems to have hit a raw nerve with Carlton.

Mike , I have not been able to see the games as I am on the Gold Coast and don’t have Fox.But I guess we take out of of what we see.It seems that Carlton were bad, but is that taking away from Fremantle and the way they played!
Great knowing that the young group are beginning to gel together and are playing some good football.
A lot of comments I have seen have been critical of the second half fade out if you like to call it that.
From what I can gather, some of the youngsters were pretty much cooked come half time.Remembering that these kids are in their first year at the club , have only done half a preseason and most have played 12 games or less.Give these kids the rest of the season, then another full preseason under their belt and there will be no fade outs.
A win is a win is a win in any ones language. We played a team we should have beaten. We did just that we beat them. And an away game makes it even better.
Yes it seems Palmers comments have struck a raw nerve.
