I see that COOKED is actually talking about moving Foundation Day to a permanent summer date…What an absolute goose that would be a shocker for WAFLs one big traditional footy day.

Well yeh it all started with this cancel culture that says aboriginal people are offended so they changed the name from Foundation Day to WA Day and Cooked wants to make it like a mini Australia Day with family celebrations and a carnival type day and it doesn’t work in the middle of winter.
I think they are talking about keeping the original date and long weekend where it is but making the celebration of it in the spring. I’m ok with that. To us die hards WA Day is still Foundation Day and that should be celebrated and should not be offensive to the aboriginal people. I don’t see aboriginal people flocking to the border to exit WA.

I remember the state government of the time purchased an old recently retired Bus from the MTT and did her up as a tourer for visitors and it had an operational Bar fitted at the back of it

As can been seen on the Bus originally the entire week was dedicated to WA.
Each day in the lead up was dedicated to theme, there was Arbo Day for Trees kids would plant trees at school , Flower day native and other flowers, shops would decorate with flowers , Pioneers Day, etc…much bigger celebration.
