As ever, when the Heat is really on this mob of Pigeons, they go to Shit!
Even without Mitchell,it was there for you lot to take this and go to 4 - 1.
There’s still hope if you can get Mitchell playing often,as I am Certain he will straighten you up,especially on the road. That’s when you need him playing.
Otherwise you Softies are NO HOPE to Win this year’s Flag.
Hardly ever find anything that I agree with you on grassy, but this time you’re dead right. It’ll take a huge turn of momentum for them to make the 8, let alone the GF. At this point, the scumbag dorks will clean them up in the derby
At least a few Eagles supporters were wise enough to go next door and watch another purple Perth team have a win away and show them how it’s done. Well done Perth Glory, classy away win in the elimination final. They now stay on the east coast to play Sydney in the semi final on Saturday night.
Yep i reckon there are.
Sam Butler has been a great servant but is way to slow nowadays.
To much still left to Priddis to get all the hard ball gets and it seems the opposition monster him whenever he gets near the ball.
Masten gets plenty of the ball but butchers it half the time.
Dom Sheed lacks genuine pace, good player but in an already slow midfield gets caught a bit.
Hills days are numbered, its a shame Willie Rioli is out for as long as he is could be the X factor needed in that forward line.
LeCras at this point of his career maybe better suited just playing at home,i still think hes good enough just doesnt seem to travel well.
Redden just hasnt delivered his Brissie Lions form at the Eagles.
Ditto Jetta.
There are 1 or 2 others and they certainly have some list cloggers at EP.
Probably shy 1 more tall mobile defender, not sure where Eric Mackenzie/Will Shofield are at.
BH,Mitchell has been good value just remember what draft pick they traded for Mitchell pick 88,virtually got him for free.
30 plus, there are more than that. They will never win a flag with Darling, who never performs under pressure in big game.Kennedy… ditto. He kicks bags when there is no pressure but is like a rabbit in the spot light come big games.Hill is a Dud, with a capital D.
When the game gets physical, the front runners go missing. The Hawks monstered them early today, became physical and they went walk about.
A lot of big decisions to be made at the Eerie. From what I can gather , there is nothing coming through at East Perth.
So where do they go from here?
Of course there are and if you re-read my post i added(edit) that there were.
Every club in the comp has list cloggers including Freo.
Im not even going to go into it with you on Kennedy, you dont fluke Coleman medals.
You dislike Darling and thats ok because he does have to get better and hopefully he does,he has age on his side,he was good today in an ordinary team.
Where to from here?
Hopefully they get Nic and Lycett back towards the end of the season, get Rioli fit and firing and hopefully he becomes that small crumbing forward they need desperately and hit the trade table hard next season and hopefully lure a West Aussie or 2 home.
Father time has come to a few and hopefully they realise that at seasons end.
30plus do you think Adam Simpson shows much imagination? I don’t think he mixes it up much, a bit of a one trick pony. The only move he’s got is throwing McGovern forward or back. Bring McKenzie into the team and throw Jack in the middle or even throw him across the half back line and leave McGovern forward.
Jetta showed his class yesterday in the WAFL but I’d say they would be looking at his KPI’S. Eagles need an injection of pace obviously Rioli could have provided that and a bit of magic. The Eagles midfield is too predictable so they need to mix it up. Hutchings was solid but no different to half a dozen others you got running through there at the moment.
Yeh lucky we came back from 27 points down against Melbourne and 29 points down midway through the 3rd quarter against NM. :silly:

Coming back from 30 points down is indeed very good. Winning on the last kick of the day, has a certain amount of luck attatched to it.

It’s takes than the last winning goal or behind to win a match, you have to look at the plays that lead to that opportunity being created. You make your own luck.

I think the game has gone past McKenzie he is your old fashioned one on one defender Afl teams just dont play like that anymore.
I dont know whether Simpson is a one trick pony i just dont think he has the right personal to swing players around.
Darlings been tried in the midfield in the past,MxGovern is your Adam Hunter so depending on how a game is going depends on where he plays for what its worth id like to see him forward more often than not, perhaps they can entice his younger brother away from Adelaide sooner rather than later.
Yeo gets thrown around a bit as did Wellingham today.(he is a lazy footballer)
The Eagles midfield is slow and does need an injection of pace,Jetta could supply that but has been mostly lazy in his AFL games.
To put it simply the Eagles are not a top 4 team and maybe not even top 6.
So what id expect from here on in is wins for a team that is placed at about 7 or 8.
A list overhaul is a must at seasons end no doubt Guys like Jordan Snadden that came with big wraps as a junior just hasnt come om,Partington is another Tom Lamb if he is to stay you would think he needs to step up sooner arther than later.etc…
30pyd, I reckon your post hit it on the head. For me Masten made too many mistakes and should be dropped. But who replaces him…not much in our ressies. I really did think they should have played Jetta - tell him to take a risk and take the game on or this may be your last chance. What has happened to their ball and kicking skills. All disappeared this year. The only thing to hang our hats on is that they are 3&2 without playing to their potential. I won’t be buying a ticket to the gf though.
They have beaten two teams who are 0-5 and St Kilda who would have beaten them if they had kicked straight. They have not played any of the strong teams as yet. Today they were thrashed by a side that was 0-4 with a percentage of 55.
I look forward with bated breath to the same media blowtorch that was applied to Ross Lyon a few weeks back being turned on Adam Simpson. The Eagles have gone backwards fast since the 2015 Grand Final, surely the absence of Natanui can’t be making that much difference.
