Agree Roman!
Keep the AFL clubs out would be great but they finance the competition. I can’t see anything changing in the future.
Oh shit it looks like history repeating itself. Glad we aren’t in it this year I don’t think I could take another freo rip off
12.10pm is terrible. If it’s for tv coverage of AFLW the WAFL commission should be f&%#$#. It’s a F&%#$#ing final you flogs and you schedule it at midday??? Makes a 6 day break for the winner and who the hell likes footy at lunch time?? Ressies at 2.30?? Getting really fed up with the dumb-ass ideas and planning.
And this is because the WAFL (including the WAFLW) is the only competitions in this state that is not managed by its own governing body, as it did prior to 1989(?). The WAFL is the name of the competition only and it’s governing body is the WAFC, whose prime aim is clearly the success of the two AFL teams. The success of the WAFL competition is of secondary importance.
Extremely disappointing spectacle Sunday, turned it off early, I am afraid the Dockers will be a good chance to go through to the GF, you can see why people are voting with their feet now and staying away from WAFL games.
On top of that SF get lumped with a crap Sunday 12 noon final fixture. Not even sure I can be inspired to go along.

So if the WAFL is of secondary importance, the AFL will suffer in the long term…deservedly so.
How many AFL players will Peelmantle have at their disposal? Is it 11 max with 5 games to qualify?
South4theflag If Freo beat Collingwood Saturday night. Will Peel be allowed to play there full squad of Dockers?
Not sure…my understanding is they would be restricted to 11 anyway with 5 games required
South4theflag I smell a rat with the South v Peel game scheduled for Sunday after Freo play Saturday night.

S4tf. This is straight out of the WAFL Regs for 2022. It clearly states that Peel can play as many AFL listed players as they like while the Freo remains in the finals and is playing the same weekend.
AFL Partner Club Players Participating in WAFL Finals
An AFL Player may play in the WAFL Finals where:
i. his AFL Club is not participating in the AFL Finals match on the same weekend as his
WAFL Partner Club; and
a. the player must have played a minimum of six WAFL League matches; and
b. the player has played two (2) of the clubs last eight WAFL League home
and away matches; and
c. the number of qualified AFL players eligible to play does not exceed twelve
(12) AFL players.
ii. or where:
a. his AFL Club is still in the AFL Finals and playing on the same weekend
then (i) does not apply.
Considering Tucker got injured, Peelmantle only had 14 active out of their 15 selected aligned players…thus 2 will go to Melbourne for the Collingwood game on Sat…leaving any 12 aligned players suiting up regardless qualifying games not played, eg Fyfe…don’t forget Western and Sebit played reserves yesterday..and Johnson didnt play either,.so whatever 12 get selected, they will be the better credentialed ones
Up to SF to take them out…which on paper I reckon they have quality and height to do so or atleast match that AFL physicality…SD whilst up against it in size, still had plenty of quality on the park in Palmer, Jones, Fisher, Clarke, Turner, Pina etc…from the stream I watched, SD looked beaten before they even started.

Freo play Sat night, we play Sun, so the leftovers will be back to play. Bet you’re glad EF doesn’t have
to play them.

It looked a bit like men v boys when you saw the size of some of the Peelmantle blokes. I think that Swans may have played their final against WP the week before cause their tank looked empty. A repeat of '16 & '17 beckons. The Freo players available this year are imho a better group with a better coach than those that beat a very strong Subi team in "16 & '17. Not sure any of the 4 WAFL teams in this years finals are up to the level of those Subi teams so it aint looking good for the WAFL.

Freeze not sure how long you were watching but Fisher was injured in the first 10 minutes of the game so he was not exactly on the park…for long!
Thanks SS
If FFC lose on Saturday night they are restricted to the WAFL rules…
If they win it is essentially open slather…
Yes, sadly thats the case, but every real WAFL supporter will be pushing your boys along, hopefully your team will realise that and play with a positive attitude, you have the list to really push Freo so hope you can right the sinking WAFL finals ship.
No because they are playing on the same weekend.
They will be restricted to 11 the following weekend.
Hopefully both Collingwood and South get up. As a Carlton and East Freo supporter don’t often say that!
Yep pleased as punch SF are playing Peel and not EF Roman, but then pretty sure the Cl and WP boys would be thinking the same…
Bease saw Fisher kick that 1st goal, watched a bit more, then wandered off and then came back in the 2nd to watch some more and so forth throughout the match…just assumed Fisher like a few other SD boys just vanished as the scoreline got worse…do think Turner and Clarke are class acts…WCE wouldn’t be doing anything wrong looking at both those boys next year TBH…
