Sad news for WAFL with the passing of broadcaster Col Minson, for many years he was a stalwart of WAFL on 6NR coverage before starting the excellent Sport FM which continued to highlight WAFL each weekend.
Sorry to hear of Mino’s passing. He gave a lot to WA sport. Loved his Premier Cricket broadcasts over the past few seasons. Used to love seeing him with his micro-studio broadcasting Mt Lawley games at Breckler Park.

Yeah pretty sure he did Sunday League for many years when it was the second biggest show in town.
Sad news as Mino has been a massive supporter of having WA Cricket & WAFL football on the radio starting at 6NR in the 1980s and now for the last decade or more at 91.3 Sport FM.
Without his outstanding efforts we wouldnt have the WA teams Sheffield Shield matches aired on the radio anymore ditto WAFL footy each weekend..
Having listened to that great interview he did with John Townsend a couple of months back he was also involved at a few WAFL clubs EF, Perth, EP etc including roles such as team manager, football manager, player manager & marketing.
R.I.P Mino
Sadly he has not been well in recent times. Apparently was one of the main drivers and instrumental in forming SportFM and getting the station on air. As we all are acutely aware, where would the Wafl be without the air time they give each week. Especially with the quality game day broadcasts and the only Wafl show around. Minson going to be greatly missed.
Very sad news. Colin Minson was a passionate supporter of WA sport and a familiar voice on the radio for many years. RIP Colin.
Rest In Peace, Mino, and thank you for everything you did to promote WA cricket and the WAFL over the years.
Another shock as another sporting favourite passes away. To a person like me that knows little about the intricacies of cricket, I found him amazingly knowledgeable about the game - just great to listen to.
RIP Mino.
A Sad day for WA and the supporters of his WA based Footy and Cricket plus a lot of other shows on 91.3. Met Minno a few times and always thanked him for supporting the WAFL and WA cricket. Enjoyed the live telecasts of the Shield games when Minnow and his crew flew to each state as well.
Colin will be sorely missed and never forgotten.
The had a tribute to him on 91.3 which covers his whole life. Worth a listen. Listened to it. It went for a few hours but enjoyed every minute of the broadcast. Heres the link if it works. If not you can find it on 91.3 and Facebook page
FFS John, Harley and I have been trying to contact you for ages. Where have you been.
Sad news indeed. Its hard to think of anyone who has done more for, or been more loyal to, grass roots sport in WA, particularly football and cricket. Will miss that unique voice. Wonderful celebration of Mino on 91.3 and long may you keep on playing the “World of football” theme song.
