[quote=“Winger post=238473 userid=846”]North Adelaide ruckman / forward Matthew McKenzie has signed with the Falcons. 199 cm. Brock Carter did a very serious knee injury, he was a terrific bloke and i hope he mends well. He may go back to basketball.

Regarding the recruits McKenzie has good size about him but doesn’t look like he’s terribly experienced making his SANFL debut in 2023.He turns 26 on November 4th.Certainly would be earmarked for that backup forward with Keitel and a chop out in the ruck. With Sprigg coming along nicely we will have some size around the ground.Seems like he may be a late developer so here’s to hoping.Steele looks ready to go.Great physique and from what I’ve read knows where the scoreboard is and is good at forward pressure acts.Waight seems to have had a great 2023 with B and F and team of the year selection but can’t see much of him in 2024.Looks wiry for a CHB but then again Ken Hunter was wiry. Not putting him in that league but if he turns out even half as good we will have a good one there.Early days for sure but some promise in the recruiting so far.Hopefully some more good news to come.
Thanks for that mate and keep up the good work. You and Whinnen are a great source of intel for our info starved Falcons supporters(although the club website has been pretty good at times).Hope you guys continue with the good news.
See Jaxon Prior has been delisted. As with Rotham there is some interest from other AFL clubs so it’s a waiting game to see if they get picked up but both would be REALLY handy back in the side.Haven’t got any fingers left to cross.
Wingers and Whinnen if Prior becomes available, I would be very surprised. I watched most if not all of the Lions VFL games and he was outstanding at FB. Perhaps if he is available EP could make a play for him given the family ties!
See Ryan Hudson has left.Although not blessed with great skills he was a 100% trier and gave his all.Unfortunately takes a bit of height away from our defensive area which is a bit lacking and reduces our options but I suppose it opens the door for more opportunities for Skender and Callum Smith.Hope our recruiting in the backline area is still ongoing.
