[quote=“Grump post=207434 userid=855”]Back to reality and now, the club has a problem and it needs to to fix it but it won’t happen this season.
We differ on where the problem lies but given we all support the same team and want it to be successful we better all hope a solution is found and found quickly. If it isn’t we have a bigger one next year cos I reckon that what was supposed to happen with the last quisling process will certainly happen at seasons end and no amount of recruiting will fix it!

it is a complex problem.is it coaching?.poor recruiting.player retention?several players have left the club in the last two years.some who would make us a better team are asher samalko, tom gorter, callum hart, jamie rudrem, tom hooper.the last two years we have battled to keep our recruits on the field.last year it was freeman who wasn’t replaced..this year watts has missed 6 games.schumacher 5 games, robertson 4 games, and edwards baldwin 3 games.add ramsay who is arguably our best player who has missed 6 games.it has shown up our lack of depth.hopefullly after the bye we might have nearly our best time playing and might eek out a few wins.questions need to be asked at the agm but it needs to be more then about recruiting.
Maybe we can recruit players of the calibre of of Kane Munro,David Antonowicz, Michael O’brien and Jeremy Humm who according to some very astute judges catapulted us to some extraordinary success, and maybe we can once again play in front of those 30,000 plus crowds which are numbers we haven’t seen since 2000 and 2002,and with players of this ilk we won’t be requiring coaches of the quality of Tony Micale.because our side will be travelling in absolute AUTOPILOT.!!!
You believe whatever helps you through, RL. The rest of us will look at the fact that in 1999, EP won 5 games with a % of 66 (ahead of only a winless Peel, who you beat 3 times), then went onto finish on top and win the flag the very next year. We will ask ourselves what the variable was from one year to the next and form our own conclusions.
Yeah funny that teddy boy especially when we went on a eight match unbeaten run in 1998 and played finals, but i don’t suppose injuries, player and coach disharmony and your best defender returning to Colllie would have had anything to do with it,and how the aligned Claremont missed the finals in 1999 with those hall of famers at their disposal is anyones guess.
Very keen Ted to hear your learned in depth analysis of what went wrong at fully aligned Tigers who unbeknowns to them, had 6 future dual premiership players within their ranks, along with the other 10 eagle rejects, although losing to lowly East Perth at the last ever game at Perth Oval, may have influenced their decision, but boy o’ boy they would’ve been kicking themselves.
Yes TN, an in depth analysis of every game and player required because the alignment with eagles was irrelevant and only such an analysis will reveal this.
Then please analyse your assertion that the earth is round . Can’t wait for that one!!
RL, if you want to rationalise it from your perspective of the quality of the Eagles players rather than the reality of twice selling out, suit yourself. But it’s attitudes like yours that make me think another alignment would be accepted by most EP fans IF it brought success. Look at this way. The Eagles reserves team currently only only have about 8 players turning out each week. So if you guys were aligned, I imagine you would say “Vardy and Hutchings and Ah Chee are washed up, Trew is just a kid, O’Neill and Brander are just average fringe players, Caneron and Jones are flashy types who go missing for much of the game, so our success is all down to Dobbo and Blee and Ramsay and Jonesey.” On the other hand, of course, if you weren’t successful, then it would be the fault of those AFL hacks blocking the pathway for all the talented EP juniors. Try looking at it from the perspective of integrity, credibility and independence and you might see things differently. Got to be a line in the sand, my friend, no alignment, on principle, under any circumstances rather than convincing yourself that past alignments haven’t really mattered if you think about it enough.
i’m sorry Ted but you need to let go of your alignment obsession and could you please condense your rambling diatribe because i have a very short attention span, and do’nt have the time or inclination to respond to someone scarred by years of failure.
When an EPFC supporter is attacked over the alignment they should just say ‘sorry sorry’ with a hand in the air and shuffle off. What else can you do? Cheats.
Ok I have said before that if the thread is hijacked with crap then I will start deleting crap so if want to argue or whinge abt the alignments and other shit take it where I can’t delete it cos I will!
I think providing false salary information to the WAFL is closer to cheating than a league sanctioned alignment. But I don’t bandy around my opinions like it’s the word of God (Ted, STT). Very interested how this years team of all stars at Perth fit into the cap. Must be done with 5 cents up your sleeve.

[quote]Don’t know why you guys get so excited. Claremont South Fremantle and Peel have also gone down this path.

[quote]That’s basically half the comp. It is not as if you are special, there are cheats everywhere.

Not surprising Perth have languished in the bottom half of the competition for over 4 decades given that your only effort to improve seems to be how much you can complain about what other clubs have done:
[list]
[]other clubs had an alignment
[]other clubs recruit better than Perth
[]other clubs have better junior zones
[]other clubs are more financial
[]other clubs claimed more on JobKeeper
[]other clubs don’t have as many injuries
All the other clubs have had more success and that’s all that matters. Though Perth have set an extremely low bar for all clubs to beat.
Instead of whinging incessantly about what other clubs are doing how about Perth gets off their ass and does something? Anything!
