east perth v west perth

it will be a interesting tussle on monday.east perth will welcome back kerr, the hyphen and wilcocks.on the other hand west perth will be without connor west who is now a west coast eagle.the royals will think that this is a good chance of a upset wheras the falcons will need a win to get back into the five.

With Robertson and Ramsay still out,West being picked up by the Wet Toasters evens things up a bit.

Should be a close game, we obviously won’t kick many goals so Keitel might be the difference.

Remember going up to Joondalup for a Perth Derby,2012 .. Something controversial happened at the end of the match. The West Perth members had a meltdown. And the East Perth coach Tony Micale gave it to the West Perth fans…

This was after some coward in the stand threw a spoon which hit Booby in the head at a previous Derby, and he was instructed not to walk through the crowd to get to and from the coaches box,an at about the 30 minute of the last quarter they were 7 points in front and the inbreds in the stand really gave it to BOOBY in the box thinking the game was over, but we scrambled a point and right on the siren Ex Falcon Josh Smith soccered one through and the game was a draw and the inbreds were stunned, and Booby defied instructions and walked thru the crowd and told them '‘TO STICK THAT UP YOUR ARSE’'which resulted in the jOONDALUP hierarchy making a formal complaint.

There’s no dancing around it todays effort was pathetic and really questions why a supporter should bother backing up again the next week.

this year has been a huge fail.we have failed in the two r’s.recruitment and retention.not only have we been able to improve our list we have lost players like rudrum, gorter and hooper etc.the effort today was pathetic.yes the oppostion played well but the skill level, intent was poor with players dropping easy marks.watts needs to come back.playing midgets in the backline doesn’t work.unfortunately not too many knocking down the door from the ressies.obviously dobbo is injured so either sebit or merritt will come back.hopefully jones didn’t get reported.time for edwards or amos to take ajang’s place.he has gone backwards in a big way.as bad as our tall forwards are at the moment i think our small forwards .are of a bigger concern.just not contributing enough.hopefully ramsay and robbo back shortl to improve the midfield.
supporters were locked out from the club rooms after the game.so i suspect the coach is very angry.

About 10 goals came from turnovers out of basic skill errors and for mine 5 or 6 regular league players just aren’t up to it or at best very mediocre at this level, and at least youngsters like Cooley and Sparks have the class pace and size to be valuable league players, and i know a lot has been made of the gameplan, but even when they were given the simple instruction of playing man on man they still struggled and we really have gone backwards after building a solid platform in the first 2 years after the alignment.

yes players are not following simple instructions.one forward was told to stay in the square.this player kept .moving up to the wing.when we get the ball then we have no one to kick to.i agree about cooley and sparks.glad they didn’t drop cooley.

As much I am loathe to comment I could not resist.

So given the comments it is down to the players when they are playing on on a taller bigger and as much as it hurts to say it better player like Keitel it is Taylor Norths fault, down to Jacob Msando or Fullgrabe for his 8 goals. So not selecting or moving players is not an option. Allowing opposition players free reign when a player last week tags the oppositions best defender down to a third of his normal possessions and is dropped. Berating a young EAST PERTH player but lauding players who get 30 possessions and turn the ball over constantly or do little or nothing with it is perfectly acceptable and fits the game plan and structure.

Just proves the point one team had a game plan, knew our weaknesses understood what was required and we did not react, counter or do something to stop it.

And now have a call for Amos to be elevated when last week he wasn’t good enough.

We really do watch a different game!

i think it is time to change our ruck structure.jones need to be our number one ruckman.i don’t think we can have two ruckman when neither is good enough to play as a forward pocket.i noticed eddie did some centre bounce rucking.is it ime to bring sebit back especially with dobbo injured and merritt to replace ajang .i think eddie can make do as part time ruck.another option someone floated is to give jedd edwards a game.ajang has regressed and is not the player he was two years ago.

I don’t know why there are calls for Amos when we’re overloaded with ruckman as it is.

AJ has been a big disappointment, and we’re better served using Eddie as a ruckman forward,i would continually persist with the very green Sebit who has a lot of X factor and at least brings a lot of forward line tackling pressure, and maybe release Angus Scott who has been handy but not worth his 10 point value and get 2 desperately needed key position players, with the 10 or 15 points room we have in our cap.

Amos is battler on a good day Grump, but maybe the key is in the word battle. At least he might have a go and look interested. Certainly not North’s fault he is not big or quick enough to play on Kietel, Barnard should of started Fullgrabe on him and stuck with it. Fullgrabe actually beat him several times in the air. Watts has been a disappointing recruit but will probably replace Northy this week. Hille Simpson and Magro played absolutely horribly so something must give there. Sorry for Dobbo who actually got out of second gear and was trying only to cop what looked a very severe hamstring.

Agree Grump Shredding a young player at quarter time, in front of supporters not the right time or place. The senior mids were keeping their heads down and weren’t making any eye contact in the huddle. Their connection to the forwards is well below par, stating up, going backwards, sideways all over the place. Do we ever see a hit up lead in the forward 50, no cause they can’t hit a target. They need to sort out who is going to be the number 1 ruckman. AJ is all over place, and Amos is a Jones clone, but not as good

I was thinking you had a good coach getting best out of blokes and would be ok. You were a kick out of playing finals last year. I don’t get it. I mean I love it. But I don’t get it.

A combination of things STT but one thing i noticed where we’re lacking and you’ve gained in your 2 upset wins with an undermanned side is on field leadership, and it looks from the outside looking in that Busher has provided that for you,as well as the tackling pressure against 2 more fancied opponents, and we are definitely lacking an on field presence.

A good point you make about the absence of on-field leadership, royallucky.
Certainly, the absence of our two best players, Jackson Ramsay and Nick Robertson, hurts.
Now, all sides have injuries, with STT’s Demons the worst hit in the WAFL at the moment.
However, Ramsay and Robertson also gave that bit of guidance at the centre bounce that we sadly miss.
We’ve been killed at the centre clearances and that puts our undersized defence under immense pressure.
I’d love to see Scott Jones and AJ occasionally just thump the ball forward rather than pivot like ballerinas trying to tap the ball to an onballer who, more often than not, gets collared if indeed he does get the ball.

Yes Arch you see it week in week out from the senior opposition players, like Black on Monday,Bolton the week before,Howlett was barking instructions for Peel a few weeks ago,we just don’t have any on field leaders who can cajole or reinforce what they’ve been drilled to do which is a shame because we finished last year very strongly.

Yep the on field stuff is missing but again that only works if players know what to do when told by the on field leader. You can add to this the directions coming from the bench, if you watch and listen it is little wonder that we are disorganised on field cos the bench like a dogs breakfast, too many chiefs (Ramma is great but after that …). We have so many ‘caches’ that there are time players cannot sit!
