So close, but just fell short, but not all doom and gloom. There’s some good stuff slowly emerging. Pity young Gross (Mainwaring lookalike) didn’t have one more metre ahead. Still, shoulda, coulda, woulda.
Besides the closeness of the score, gawd it was hard to watch.
I had a switch it off for a while, after Maric slaughtered 2 consecutive kicks in the backline when he was under no pressure. And there was plenty more like that.
That was probably their best chance of winning a game this season, although cellar-dwellers often come up with a surprise win against a good team at some time in the season eg Norths against Brissy today (well - half a win).
[quote=“mikeh post=242936 userid=926”]Young Grosse showed a lot of pluck when he came on and but for that amazing run down tackle could have been the hero.

When I saw him running through the field during the game, I thought Chris Mainwaring was back…lol.
Surely you can remember back in the days when Geelong were getting pantsed every week Unk . It might be hard to watch, but in my case, it’s good to watch a game where they are competitive.

Not really Sh58… cats last spoon way back in 1958!!
You’ve got me beat there Unk, the only thing I knew and saw was Geelong coping a few hidings and that their colours were blue and white. I never got interested in the VFL till 1986 and now I’m waiting for the AFL to emerge.
