E grades 2013

Wish guys were still there. At least we’d be competitive against each other!

Looking at sporting pulse in the fixtures it now has Wanneroo in place of Carlisle from week 5 (yesterday) on. Is this correct or is sporting pulse playing up?

Correct. Carlisle pulled out so Wanneroo will field a 4ths team will now play in E4

How are Beechboro going , they have been a club that seems to be going down hill. From potential improvers to now a 1 side club. Writing is on the wall for the future? Is the standard any good at this grade or more social type of games. Sorry but not really familiar with this level. May play at a lower level like this myself next year if it is easy going more relaxed type of footy.

I think if your winning by 20 goals a game its relaxing, not so much if your on the other end of a 20 goal flogging. they really need to even the E grades up IMO. I cant understand how they can put 1 team clubs and A 3rds in the same grade as C3 & C4 3rds teams? I think they’ve organized the E grades by logistics which I think is useless, I would personally prefer to travel a long distance to play and be competitive than save some petrol and get belted by 20 goals every week. To answer your question beechboro have been smashing everyone in E3

Thanks for the reply. So the standard is not very high then? Sounds like social type of footy , which is fine if that’s what you want.

I play in a E4 3rds team. It depends how you look at it. There are blokes in our side who havent played footy muc/ever before so the quallity of footy from them might not be very high. Then there is the rest of us, new to the club, havent played in couple of years but not that long out of the game, who need to play well and hard to prove our worth, and put hands up for selection into the 2nds/1sts.

While the quallity of footy might not always be as god as the higher grades, its definitely still very competitvie despite some of the scores. Losing still hurts and winning still feels great.

I think the standard is pretty good, especially with some of the better teams, its just some teams have a massive drop off in talent with their bottom 12 players or so and when your playing against League teams and A 3rds the gulf in talent and depth is quite evident. IMO all 1 team clubs and A 3rds should be in E1, there’s no way Beechboro 1’s, swan ath 3rds etc. should be in E3

Completely agree with this. We finished 4th on the ladder in E3 last year and found it, on the whole, a much more even and competitive competition with like minded people playing and nobody taking it too seriously. In our side there are only 3 of us that train regularly (if at all) and most turn up just to play and have a bit of fun in a social setting.

Now we are in E1 (still unsure how) and struggling a lot, which has taken a lot of the enjoyment out of the games and we have been struggling to get a full 22 each week.

We still play for fun and I enjoy it, but I am continually baffled as to how we are in E1, especially when I see other teams doing proper warm up drills and doing something called ‘zoning’ during the game.

Totally agree also.

I guess the message is to either take it a bit more serious and train/warm up, or dont play at all. :stuck_out_tongue:

I have been on the “giving” end of a couple of 10 goal hidings this year and we find that once the team we are playing realizes they are going to lose, thats when a win turns into a percentage booster. Most teams can match us when they really apply themselves, yet our percentage suggests differently.

To those teams complaining about being “bumped up” a few grades, I would take it up with your president as im pretty sure a few were asking to be bumped up grades despite their ability for whatever reason.

So, because we get bumped up a few grades I should stop playing? The whole ethos of our side was to come down, train when/if you can and have some fun playing some social football. Half of our team work away so they are unable to train.

And I can categorically tell you that our President did not ask for us to be bumped up at all. We weren’t consulted and only found out when the fixtures were released.

I know there is nothing that can be done and whinging about it is pointless, I can only hope they reassess the way they grade the E Division next year.

My club is in E1 after being in E3 last year and being the coach I know for a fact the President made many requests for it to be changed. Palmer didn’t want a bar of it saying the E grades were even.

That’s Bullshit!

I’d be confident any team in E3 last year put in a complaint about this years fixturing.

No but I would say maybe you should play a bit better! :silly:

The cuts me deep joomla016. All my life I hoped to be a talented footballer, able to create magical plays on the field and win the respect and adoration of not only my team mates, but the opposition and supporters.

I once dreamed of being able to compete in the lofty heights of E1, where only the elite play, alas I have not been able to master the game of football at these dizzying heights.

Every night I pray to Thor himself that I may be able to get better, but due to full time work commitments and many outside influences I just can’t find the time to transform my skills to the upper echelon so that I may hit a target by foot.

However, if you are offering your coaching services I am usually available for a kick around on Sunday mornings (hangover permitting) so if we could pencil something in for this weekend that’d be great as I fear, playing against the top side, we are going to be in for a thorough walloping on Saturday.

Cheers mate.

where’s the like button!

Damn Viper, I was looking for that too.

Crikey some more close games in the well structured E grades…
E1
Brentwood Booragoon 5.7 (37) - (should of been put in either E3 or E4)
Swan Districts 26.11 (167)

E4
Forrestdale 3.8 9.9 13.11 20.16 (136) - (should of been put in either E1 or E2)
Dianella Morley 1.0 1.2 2.2 4.4 (28)

Wanneroo 2.1 (13)
Safety Bay 27.18 (180) - (should of been put in either E1 or E2)

Hopefully the sides on the receiving end of the floggings can stick it out and hope that the fixtures are sorted next season.

Don’t worry about Dianella Morley - we’ll be fine.

Yesterday was a tough game against a physical Forrestdale who are a single-team club.

We are the DM thirds, so any players in form go up to play ressies or league - single team clubs don’t have that issue.

We had a win by about 20 goals the previous week, that’s just the way it goes.

And our guys did not stop trying yesterday, however tough it was looking on the scoreboard.
