If you are a really competitive and good side then E1 is for you.
Otherwise for the rest of us, just wanna enjoy the day without having to drive to Safetbay.
I played a handful of games in E3 last year and the top 4 teams hammered us by over 20 goals on nearly every occasion. The deck clearly wasn’t even.
For what was supposed to be the lowest grade of Ammos in Perth there’s plenty of blokes who seem to enjoy getting 35 touches against hasbeens and neverwillbes rather than having a crack against guys at their own level.
At the end of the day E Grade is meant to be the social grade for blokes who don’t take footy that seriously…so sure it might not be quite the gravy train it once was for some, but at least the league is trying to even things up. This year my boys are the only team NOR in E4…but we have to cop that and if it means the comp is more even than fair enough.
Wow some close games in the E grades.
E1
Rossmoyne (E1) 19.24 (138)
Whitford (E1) 1.2 (8.)
Noranda (E1) 8.5 (53)
Swan Districts (E1) 22.6 (138)
E2
Kingsley (E2) 32.18 (210)
Bassendean (E2) 0.3 (3)
E3
Ellenbrook (E3) 5.3 (33)
Beechboro (E3) 22.19 (151)
E4
Canning Vic Park South Perth 4.2 (26)
Safety Bay 19.14 (128)
We lost to bayswater by 25 goals.
E4
Forrestdale (E4) 4.4 10.7 19.10 20.15 (135)
Kelmscott (E4) 0.3 0.3 0.3 0.3 (3)
Another close game.
Why they didn’t put the all single team clubs in E1 and E2 is beyond me.
Well at least they get a chance for a flag.
They will then move up or not.
Go figure with Safety Bay, last year they were in E1 and playing ok footy.
Now in E4!!! Bewildering stuff.
The administrators of the E leagues have not done a good job.
Safety Bay should not be in E4. Will go close to undefeated
Got to agree I found the jump up 2 grades for us was a bewildering one considering we finished 3rd in E3 and found ourselves playing the E2 Grand Finalists. After seeing Norando get pumped I am wary of how the rest of the season will go considering they obliterated basically every team by 100+ last year.
It’s impossible to get it perfect, but such a jump for a bunch of drunkards who don’t train and have a kicking efficiency of about 8% should make for an interesting season. Oh well, as long as there are cold beers it will all be good.
Does anyone know if your club nominates your preferred grade or if the league allocates it?
I know alot of clubs jump at the opportunity to go up whilst others are more than happy to stay put.
Dunno, maybe that explains some of these crazy jumps?

pretty sure E Grade is allocated
It’s quite possible the league split up all the single team clubs to get them some wins/a flag to attract players and hopefully move up into C4
An ordinary decision if that is true. Should have been 4 even comps. It’s a battle for the rest of us to finish 3rd on the ladder.
Carlisle are a disgrace. 3rds team forfeited both rounds. How can they register a 3rds team if they can’t field it?
E4 Cockburn Lakes with a percentage of 3771.43 is not too bad
Anyone know if Carlisle had their 3rd and final forfeit on weekend?
Melville’s Facebook page says that the thirds were “the shining light with a forfeit win over Carlisle”
Thanks to the Rossmoyne gents in E1 for putting on an impressive pre-game show that others may know as a warm up. Far too good for us in all aspects and I’d heavily wager they will finish 2nd behind Swan Districts with many other 100+ points victories to come.
To the Brentwood fellowship, let’s try and up those numbers from 2 to 4 at training this week to get our disposal efficiency in to double figures and hopefully get a win for Coach Slimey who is beginning to feel the media pressure of a winless start to the season.
Vsing Quinns at Karoonda Park this week. One would expect that to be a tight game, given the last encounter.
Thanks for bringing up the torturous memories of an overtime loss to miss a grand final berth. That one hour I spent at pre-season with the thoughts of what could have been if we just kicked a bit better, created more space and tackled harder came flooding back. Retribution is the name of the gamed this week as we look to right the wrongs of our 2012 campaign and hopefully record our first win and celebrate long in to the night.
Woof woof.
Just a quick ladder update for all those following the E1 league:
7th - Quinns
8th - Coolbinia
9th - Brentwood
10th - Noranda
Good to see the E3 elevated teams occupying the bottom 4 spots. The system works!
