Having just watch the SA showdown, i’m convinced that the Western Derby and the Showdown are the most fiercly fought contests in the AFL, even when the scores are not close. Forget the so called “blockbusters” from the east. They don’t have the raw passion of WCE v FFC and PA v Crows.

The showdown was an absolute ripper. PA fans had their hearts ripped out before Motlop gave them CPR and ripped the heart out of Adelaide fans.

And stayed on his feet.The best game of Afl in years imo.And how cool was Motlop under pressure.Evaded a defender took his time to steady and dropped it in.What a cool customer.Forever a Port legend now.
