Why would the Wafc now admit Subi have an advantage, I think the horse has bolted on that one!
MO – for the same reason that they will, in all likelihood, make changes to the alignment, pressure from the other clubs. If the alignment is reformmed and Subiaco win flag after flag, they will have to change it.

If subi had beat Peel yesterday we would have all been screaming about how unfair the comp is.Is it fair that Perth has not been in a final for 17 years.Was it fair that Peel took so long to make the finals.The longer we have gone from 1987 the inequality of who can win a premiership has become more clearer.
MO – course it is an issue which is why I have suggestted that recruitment restrictions be introduced. A wrong has been done to the competition since the Oval deal, that is true enough. I can only suggest – for the future – holding back some of Subi’s grant money over the coming decades; I know that this is scant consolation for everything which has happened on the field.
I have congratulated the 5 peel players on another thread and repeat that on this dedicated congratulatory thread, those boys played their guts out all season and deserve to enjoy every moment of their success.
The thread has become a bit sidetracked as most threads do and mostly by the peel and Subi haters, but as many of those same Subi haters have mentioned over and over again, once Subi oval closes that will bring Subi back to the field financially and we can all live happily ever after.
I see that the Freo players were celebrating in Fremantle. So much for Mandurah being the place to be!!!

Well done to the PTFC, they won the flag fair and square. Everything they did was within the current rules of the WAFL. Changes in the qualification rules will more than likely be made for next season but in the meantime Peel supporters should enjoy the title “reigning premiers” for the next 12 months. Maybe this win will give a fillip to football in the Peel region and who knows the next Peel premiership may contain a lot more locals. It is great to see a different name on the cup this year
Credit to Subiaco as well who put up a brave effort and no matter what they say were severely disadvantaged by the lack of match fitness that comes from only playing one competitive game in five weeks whereas their opponents were battle hardened. They were also on the wrong side of the umpiring yet again with some quite bewildering and inconsistent interpretations.
The crowd of 15,000 whilst not massive was certainly more than I expected.
The challenge for all teams including the club I support is to stop complaining about the AFL clubs in the WAFL, unfortunately this is a reality which will not go away no matter how much we whinge about it. Sure we can all fight for certain concessions to help make the WAFL competition more of an even playing field but it is also up to the Perths and Swans, Claremonts and East Fremantles to challenge themselves to improve sufficiently so that they can compete with the alignment teams and Subiaco.

DF…why are you surprised Blakely was wearing a Freo polo?..havent folk complained here on this thread and many others that Peel played 17 Freo players?..yeah we get it they are paid by Freo not Peel…it’s not morally right but within the rules right…hopefully changes will come out of it and sooner rather than later.
anyway isnt what Blakely did on the footy field whilst wearing a Peel jumper busting his gut for them count more than wearing a polo shirt post match?..yeah he was just doing what he gets paid to do…but if Blakely didnt give a toss , why bust his gut running around picking up 40 odd possies v SF and back up v Subi with 39 possies?..a lot of running around in Blakely’s off season to do that dont you think?..anyway game over…Subi clearly showed even with their best side, giving 110%, that the WAFL needs to address the number of AFL boys running around in the WAFL each weekend…it had to happen…if Subi had won the like of Freo n WCE would of said…look what is the problem us aligned clubs still cant win the flag…which the WAFL would of listened to…just think Subi showed a bit too much 
…they should of rolled over by more thus substantiating even more every WAFL clubs and fans concerns about the Alignment disparity!
