Great game where one team took it’s chances and the other team didn’t, simple as that. Two very evenly matched teams, Pies faster across the ground, WC stronger in the air but they simply didn’t kick straight enough, should have won by a couple of goals but coodashooda dont win games. The Pies kept up their intensity all game and fell over the line.
The Vic-centric TV commentary talked less about the game and more about the poor old Pies having to travel and do iso and being away from home, FMD, for decades this mob have had a dream run with the fixtures playing the vast majority of their games including finals at their home ground, the MCG, rarely travelling out of CoVic and when they did it was short hops to SA or Sydney.
Oh well that’s it for local footy, hoping either of Port, Lions or Saints can get up and win the flag.
