Sam Petrevski-Seton is wearing a the number 5 guernsey that was once famously worn by another great indiginous player and West Aussie, Syd Jackson.
If SPS can half as good as Jackson, then he will have a great career.Jackson was an amazing player.Of course he was a former East Perth player.
I remember speaking with some SD colts fellas 2 seasons back after playing against SP-S…they were all in awe of him on the field…when you watch from afar its easy to get carried away but when the blokes he was playing against are shaking their heads at his ability tells me everything I need to know Anchor!!
I am pretty sure Syd Jackson & SPS are not the only WA boys to wear the No.5 at Carlton.
Earl Spalding, Josh Kennedy definitely did also pretty sure Steve DaRui wore it as well whilst Chris Judd is half West Aussie isnt he?! ![]()
You could be right BH, but I was only working on the indigenous side of things.

A couple of other WA boys to wear the no.5 at Carlton- Brighton Diggins & Ern Henfry
Hey,you’re stealing my thunder you lot!
I wrote about Carlton number 5’s weeks ago. :side: :S
some would say the Blues have only been any bloody good when Western Australians have been in command, such as the two above, Mike Fitzpatrick, and to a small extent, even David Parkin.
Mike Fitzpatrick wore number 3 and Earl Spalding wore number 11 whilst at Carlton
