Announced today.
Charlie Constable and Corey Byrne to be Co-captains.
Connor Sing, Regan Clark, Sam Simpson and Aaron Clarke to be in the leadership group.
I think this is a great move.
Charlie brings the experience of a Premiership Captain and Corey Byrne rewarded for service to the Club.
Hopefully this will help Matt Taylor with his own football.
Yes, Constable, Simpson and Clarke are a huge influence to the leadership. A great honour to Corey, Connor and Regan to be included.
End result a great leadership group.
Seems strange that Taylor has stepped away from not just the captaincy, but the leadership group. Is that something he requested? He has been ok the last couple of years, but down on the form he showed for a few years where he would regularly get 25-30 possessions and provide some run and carry out of defence.
Burner deserves the accolade and Charlie Constable is a natural leader.
Ted, I think Taylor tried enough but I sensed captaincy may not have sat quite well enough for him. It did seem that it may have affected his playing performance.
I very much like the new leadership group.
I would say this wasn’t Taylor’s decision. Dodd maybe trying to make an early statement. I find it hard to believe Taylor and or Coniglio can’t be in a leadership group. A bit of a kick in the guts to our most experienced players.

We all love Tails and Cogs - but remember Fyfe and Walters not in Freo’s leadership group either. Blooding the youngsters
Good interview. Interesting that Simpson seems to be preparing to play half back. He has the skills for that role. I would personally have rather seem him play forward, as I think we have more deficiencies forward. To me, Cogs, Sing, Taylor and Poole can play back pocket/half back. Still, having a skilled ball user off half back can set up play, so it may prove to be a good move.
Simpson half back, Daniel Hill forward. I like it. Preston-Coates the one I’m tipping to step up as a key defender. Johnno in the foot brace a worry. A few other boys we got FA from last year look in good nick - Paton, Wills, John, Dellamarta. Fairbank the one that needs to get on the track.
Agree if Johnson isn’t fit, we have a problem. Have to say I don’t rate Preston-Coates. I’d play Schlensog as a key back and have Q or Broadbent as a tall forward. I also don’t rate Hill. Happy to be proved wrong, but I think Thorne and Kemp should be ahead of him as small forwards.

Agreed Preston Coates hasn’t done much. Hill came out of the blocks fast and then hit a wall. Has Simpson got a bit of yap and a loud Instructional voice? If so off half back for him sounds good.
Broadbent to play Forward and second ruck.
I think he is a good get.
I may be wrong but MHO.
