I think Safety Bay will come up from E1 and at least 1 of the other clubs will have to stay in C3 to make it 10 teams in each grade.
If that did happen secret harbour would stay down as they were runners up. Premiers were Southern river(piara waters)
Is that’s so lots of travel will be on the cards again. Safety bay, Kwinana and Secret harbour
There were only 9 teams in C3 so East Freo stay up Manning come down and Secret Harbour and Southern River go up. That leaves 9 teams in C4 with Safety Bay coming to make it 10.
Got it (finally)
No secret harbour trip! Good thing
Armadale to be big improver$ thi$ year!
Time to get some c4 talk happening wasnt much last year. Cantvwait for the season to start.
Should be interesting in c4 this year with some new teams.
Belmont will start favorites. They went close to the GF last year and were unlucky. Their colts made the GF so a few of them coming up will strengthen them. Belmonts fast moving play on,run carry and spread, play on from behind the ball ,play on from deep in defense style of running football should of got them glory last year but were just beaten in the finals by two teams who executed that style of footy a fraction better. They had a great coaching team and this will see them as the team to beat.
Cottesloe also played a similar style of footy to Belmont and were very organized across the lines but just lacked a little bit of pace to get them over the line in the finals. Also their facillities were terrible especially on a cold wet day .The Roosters had a great coach and will be a threat again.
Armadale are rumoured to be the big improvers this year. They were not far of the mark last year as they had the pace to go with the fast moving game plan ,they had brilliant midfield linking hand ball and ran and switched well in defense with play on handball carry and run ,as all the top sides do, but lacked some key goalkickers to finish off and also a little bit of commitment was lacking especially on the training track.
Osbourne Park also played the same style of play on football as the top sides but were hesitant in their execution at times and lacked a few key mids to keep the ball moving smoothly. They had a very even team with great depth but will need to recruit to be a threat.
Kwinana again also played the run and spread ,play on type of football well but lacked a bit of passion as a few internal problem’s seemed to effect them. If they could sort there problems out get their game plan right and maybe recruit a few hard inside midfielders to compliment their outside runners they could be the team to improve.
Cockburn improved as the season went on and could also move up the ladder if they can retain the momentum they had at the end of last season.
Rossmoyne struggled last season as their old school game plan of going back and kicking it to their slow moving talls just wasn’t good enough. They were the only team in C4 to play this old fashioned style of footy and will need to change their game style and to do that they need some midfield pace which was lacking and will need a good coach to implement the running , play on style of footy needed to succeed.
Jandakot were a bit of a rabble at times last season and had a lot of players doubling up. They will need depth more onfield structure and they also had a bit of field trouble. If they can stabilize their club they may move up the ladder.
Coming down will be Manning who did not win a game in C3 last year but I have heard that they have gone on a recruiting drive and will rebound.
Safety Bay were E1 premiers last and Obviously I did not see them last season so don’t know much about them. Usually a team going up a grade is very competitive.
I hope that gets the C4 chatter under way for this season as it was dead last year and it it us good to read comments from other clubs.
That’s a pretty impressive write up Bolter, well done mate
Great write up bolter! Will be good to get some chat happening re C4 this year!
Armadale boys started up last week with decent numbers on the track first up! Hopefully more to filter in over the coming weeks and we can get a good idea of how we are tracking towards round 1.
Ozzie Park numbers have been good. Been on the track for roughly 6 weeks and numbers have increased each session. no one has left from last year at this stage and a few extras have come on board. things are looking promising down at robinson reserve
interesting to see manning staying in C3 and east froe have come down to C4…and C$ being a 12 team comp!
Rumours has been about that East Fremantle maybe heading back to a single team competition (Manning staying up). Their reserves coach and most of the side have headed over to the Cobra’s (from the grape vine).
Hate to say it - but Armadale will be hard to beat. They have “recruited aggressively”.
Would expect Safety Bay to come into E Grade travelling nicely - with Pinky leaving Secret Harbour, it will be interesting to see how they keep their players from heading over to club’s that actually have clubrooms/changerooms.
Fair call on Jandakot - always on the back foot last season with a coach change-over. But this season we are solid off-field having appointed a new League Coach on a two-year contract and two Senior Assistant coaches. Last season we were a couple of points off a Colts GF and a few goals from a Reserves one. All focus has been on League in preseason so hopefully we are more consistently competitive.
DB.
I dont understand how East Freo are coming down and not Manning? Have they really gone to a 1 team club?
So here are the teams to kick off 2015 for C4.
I hope Nollamara survive to finish off the season, as with any team.
This is not my ladder, just listing clubs by last years results and where they are from etc. Won’t be an easy grade as we have 12 clubs fighting it out for 2015.
C4 (F Grade) - from - place
1 East Fremantle C3 8
2 Belmont Districts C4 3
3 Cottesloe C4 4
4 Armadale* C4 5
5 Osborne Park C4 6
6 Cobra’s C4 7
7 Kwinana C4 8
8 Rossmoyne C4 9
9 Jandakot C4 10
10 Safety Bay E1 1
11 Bayswater E1 3
12 Nollamara E1 10
Dont worry about Nollamarra, they have a new head coach with good contacts and they have recruited well and have some really qaulity players, im not saying there gonna win the flag but they will be no easy beats
Any news on East Fremantle many numbers on the track? How did they go in their scratch matches if they have had any?
East freo will be in E grade due to lack of numbers im sure they will rebuild and be back in C4
Saw the clearances and noticed a couple of the east freo boys moving over to the cobras aswell might be the reason for the lack in numbers but hope they get a couple of numbers back soon
We tried to play Safety Bay in a scratch match over the weekend just gone, they pulled out because they are struggling for numbers and could not fill a team. Hope this doesn’t effect your grade this year boys
Easts are officially in E1 a fair bit of travel for the boys this year
