C3 - Round 10

The halfway mark is finally here and hasn’t the first half been enthralling. East Freo were on fire early and fallen away, The Saints wondering where a win will come from now have 2 and we’re still none the wiser who will make the top 5.

The Tigers sitting pretty on top is a big surprise to me and i just realised they have been awarded the round 1 win against East Freo which is now showing them as a forfeit?? What has happened here? The teams chasing for me are where the flag will come from. At this stage I’m not on the Tigers band wagon and they have 9 rounds to prove me wrong and show they are the team to take the cookies!

Roosters, Swans and Valley to me are the 3 best but Tigers did thrash the Swans in the wet so take from that what you will. Maybe the Swans don’t like water but Tigers lost to the other 2 and really it was 3 including The Eagles hence my comments around them not being the best, just yet.

It’s going to be pissing down this week and all grounds will be in marvellous shape and The Valley pitch hasn’t had the usual foot traffic so be interesting to see how it holds up with 5 games this week to celebrate the opening of their new change rooms and past players / sponsors day. The league boys playing under 300 lux lighting at 5.20 will be huge! I’ll be in Bay 13 lacing up the Tigers coach who is a crab haha

Swans Vs Roosters - MOTR - oh boy oh boy this is going to be tantalising this one! 2nd Vs 3rd and The Tigers will be ecstatic to get some breathing room from one of them. Roosters are on fire at the moment and after The Swans abysmal effort a few weeks ago I’m sure they’l l want to make amends but Roosters are the team to beat for me at the moment and Swans haven’t peaked just yet. Roosters by 2 goals.

Eagles Vs The Tigers - Not sure what happened in round 1 with Eagles win taken away and can only assume played someone who wasn’t quite registered at the time. The points law we have needs some tweaking in my opinion but i’m only guessing here. Tigers need to stamp the foot and show the comp they are the real deal and here is one they need to win to show that. Tigers by 3 goals for me as Eagles are in a big ugly slump at the moment.

Roosters Vs The Blues - The Roosters came to play last week and crowed all the way home with a nice win over what could have been a ladder leading Valley. This week they take on the Blues who are also fighting relegation. Whoever wins this and against Uni stays up … The Roosters have pushed and beaten 2 top teams so going on form this is a cake walk! Can the Blues step up? I think they will and by 2 points.

Falcons Vs Students - The Students aren’t travelling too well at the moment and The Falcons are flying after the weekend’s big one to soar in to the 5 (see what I did there ;)). They will make light work of The Students by 5 goals and they will be on team you don’t want to play in the finals i can assure you!!

Valley Vs The other Tigers - This was close to GOTR as well as Valley have shown they can slip up at times and Tigers are finally kicking straight, just not a lot of scoring shots now. Night game and look forward to a beer with the Coach after the game and we can talk shit how good we once were kicking goals from the Desmond property when we were at our peak! Valley at home by 4 goals.

good luck all and enjoy the frothies!

Love the write up Viper and the halfway summary is spot on. The second half of sure looks to be an interesting one and if these certain league teams start to drop off will they boost there stocks in the lower teams. For me personally, im pretty happy with the top 4 and could finish in any order. The fifth position is still a bit open at this stage.

Warnbro v cott….. GOTR. Everyone backed warnbro in last week and gave the falcons no chance. The let it slip by a kick, they get the chance to get it back once again at home. Cott impressive last week and need that intensity once more. Warnbro by 10 points

Well the forfit from rd1 also has me stumped, I guess east freo played an unregistered player. Either way canning are winning games and sit on top. These guys show up and get the job done sure they have dropped a couple but credit to them and there young side for sticking together over the years and building on it. East freo in must win games now, good chance to redeem themselves from rd1. Canning by 3 goals

Ossy park had me shocked last week and I had to refresh the play HQ page a couple of times to make sure it was correct. I wouldn’t be surprised if they put this one away also against willo.
Willo by 4 goals

Coolbinia are on fire at the moment having a big win away from home last week. Up against an unpredictable Uni. But I will be watching the 1v2 in the ressies in this one. Coolbinia by 19 points

Valley takes on Rolly in what I think should be close. A win for Rolly still keeps them in contention with the top five, while valley are eyeing off top spot. Hopefully valley can make more use of their forward half entry’s and put it on the score board. Valley by 5 points

Good luck everyone

Well my pick of GOTR didn’t disappoint! My tip was wrong though with The Roosters getting up by 2 points and they have just hit number 1 on my list and as far as I’m concerned they are the team to beat at the moment.

East Freo found some winning form again and knocked off The Tigers by 19 points

Blues beat The Saints by 6 points and could that have slotted Saints in to C4??

Falcons demolished The Students by 19 points (3.12) … this sounds like it should have been a 10 goal flogging but the conditions keps the Students in it.

Valley vs The other Tigers was a fkn ripper! Valley in front of past players and sponsors came out to play and kicked the first 3 in about 5 mins and I thought this was going to get a bit ugly but from that point on Roley reigned them in and worked away slowly on the board.

Valley didn’t kick another goal until the 3rd and opened up with the 1st of the 4th and drew within a couple points but Roley kicked one that would become the sealer. The banter was great and even the Roley players were having a giggle coming off at half time which was great to see. Every time the boundary threw it in in front of the crowd he got hyped up and the grin on the boundary’s face was so good to see. Cars around the oval like a country game, good to be back at The Valley and The Tigers hanging around for a beer. good day of amateur footy!

OH, you’re welcome JG
