C2, round 1

Righto, let’s get some tips underway. Round 1 finally upon us and the weather gods are turning it on for us. Let’s see who this week what teams had a solid preseason and who still has a Xmas hangover.

Canning v Piara. My understanding is that canning will play their games at another location this year as on Wyong gets a revamp. About time the city of canning put some effort into that place. I’m sure Piara have a few colts that have pushed through and canning always do well recruiting from down south. Piara by 4 goals.

Gossy travels out to cott in search of there first win in c2. Cott also looking to make a name for themselves in the c2 comp.

Cott by 9 points

Canning vale for me started to fall off a bit towards the end of last season. A new league coach and some good young talent coming through will help boost this side. Kingsley a little bit similar having fallen behind and I’m sure looking forward to a strong season. Kingsley by 15 points

Basso v Belmont. Haven’t seen Basso play for a very long time so I’m looking forward to seeing that a some stage this year. Belmont hungry for more action this year and basso are no walk over that’s for sure. Basso by 3 goals

Balla v Valley. Valley got invited back while balla asked to come down. The first game to show where we are at with these two teams. Valley by 2 points

Good luck everyone

Basso and Belmont for my GOTR.

Well, Belmont - Basso was a fizzer with Basso getting spanked. Hope that isn’t a sign of things to come or in for a very long year. 55 points

Hawks by 18 point in what looked like a good game on paper, Falcons tamed the Tigers by 37 points, Cats over the cougars by 13, Valley by 10 over The Royals.

The reserves is a worry. Cougars done by 118 by the premiers, Basso lost by 73. Not a good start for depth.

Agreed. Looks like Basso could be in a bit of trouble this year. Take nothing away from Belmont though, I think they will do well in 2026.

Canning Vale actually led by a couple of goals at 3 quarter time before being overrun. Looks like they might be lacking a bit of depth though going on the 2’s scores.

Heard from a mate that the Gosnells V Cott game was a cracker. The Cott Full Forward (Pullman) is almost unstoppable, though they als have a few decent players across the ground. In the end the better Gossy midfield got the run on and came away with it.

Looks like balla and SV was a decent game.

Thought Piara and Canning would be closer, looks like Canning have to play all their games at Rossmoynes ground while theirs is being redeveloped.

Anyone get to any of the games?

Josh is a genuine gun. Played at Swan Districts coming through the system with Nic Nat, Ellard, Rance, Yarran, Walters, Notte in the circa 2007/8 Swans dream team. He was a big lad then and I reckon even bigger now. Looks about 6”4’ and 90kg of pure football talent. As you said 050, if you get midfield dominance he can’t hurt you and you can win. He does chop out in the ruck as well.

I remember Pullman he looked the goods at Swans. Shame for them he didn’t stick at it.

He did and went to South where he was impactful once given an opportunity.
