My apologies Dingo you are correct, Mondayitis has got me!!

Cheers, I’ll get the tipping comp sorted!

Kenwick V Canningvale
COLTS
i was the waterboy for the colties, just got ran over. had some players who stood up but on the whole it’s hard to keep pace when only a few of them are regularly at training. though now they have had a taste of football the numbers will pick up. the new coach had a little trouble early with player positions as he didn’t know some of the players but this will get better as the season progresses.

RESERVES
i only got to watch half of this game as i had to get ready for my game but what i saw our ressies converted their chances and canningvale didn’t for the first half then from all accounts in the third our boys just ran away with it.

LEAGUE
the big show kicked off quickly with a kenwick goal in the opening minutes then the canningvale players showed a willingness to run no matter were they were. their skills were good and they helped each other. our skills let us down(i’ll admit my kicking was horrible) and all fumbles, miskicks and dropped marks were pounced on by the cougars. a few times they made us look second rate with players drifting down with no markers and getting easy marks in the forward 50(i think their winger with the thing on top of his head “macca” i think his name was kicked 3 maybe 4). it showed us we have a long way to go but we won’t stop and will hope to make it a closer game at clifton park later on in the year.

also good to see a lot of the Canning Vale guys stayed around for beers after the game.

can any of you guys give us an update on the bloke that left in the ambulance? i didn’t see it but it sounded bad.

Broken cheek bone!
He ended up walking to the ambo and is on the mend!!

Was very pleased with our colts, ran and spread very well, used the ball well!

Our ressies perhaps in need of a bit more gas in the tank but will bounce back!

And good start for us in the league, thought we used the ball quite well, nice open ground for a run mills park!

I was told that canning won by 5 points! And that there new recruit from the Sydney swans reserves kicked a bag full along with the winner with 30sec to go!

I’ll do my other write ups soon!

P.S, canningvale, welcome to C2. Nice win

Round one kicked off on the weekend and for some it could not of come sooner!
Only the first round so I don’t want to get to carried away.

Swan Valley v Warnbro
Maybe the boys in the valley took this a little lightly to new comers Warnbro. Valley can’t afford a slow start if they want to make a strong presences in the comp this season.
Warnbro showed that the travel might just not upset them to much. They showed they had plenty more of the ball up forward and wasted no time with.

Mosman Park v Snesa
With mossie coming down and Snesa coming up a grade I my self personally thought this would of been one way traffic. Both teams just as hungry after last years results both showed good signs. Snesa playing a similar style to lynwood last season with a lot of run and carry the ball. Mossie very good with the ball and I thought maybe over used it at times!

Bassendean v Canning south perth
Kick for kick goal for goal. The full forward for basso had a good day at the office with a lazy 7, some teams may find it difficult keeping him at bay, as the canning boys showed that not much has changed since last year as they still use the ball very well.

Kenwick v Canningvale
Well I’m sure there might of been a couple of sore bodies from canningvale after been welcomed into the C2 by one of the hard nut teams of the WAAFL. To there credit they stood there ground and proved why they were last years premiers! I was surprised to hear that some of kenwicks last years league players were running around in the 2’s. but maybe just getting the first game and some match fitness under there belt I first priority.

Manning v Quinns
Quinns came to manning and went BANG, sending a clear msg to all other teams. they didn’t even give there 2’s a chance to score and just as strong in the main game controlling from start to finish! I don’t want to start the alarm bells yet for manning but let’s hope things change or its going to be a long season for them.

Finally a good first win for the mighty EAGLES as well.

Well done to all clubs on there first hit out with plenty more to come.
