The unthinkable has happened. Reportedly signed with the Adelaide 36ers. Fans are going beserk but I’m not surprised. Wildcats have never been the same since Trevor Gleeson and Jack Bendat departed.
Apparently Bryce played under the Adelaide coach when he was an assistant at the Utah Jazz. He owes the Wildcats nothing. But where he’s put egg on his face is when he said if he came back to the NBL he wouldn’t play for a rival team.
Frees up huge money for the Wildcats to find another high class point guard. Apparently they’ve been talking to Patty Mills. That would be awesome if they can get him.
I think firstly Bryce Cotton served Perth exceptionally well and really when you look at it roundly - he probably deserves the choice of where he wants to finish his career.
It now appears the overseas deal fell through badly for him and then players agents had feet in the door before Perth could get moving fast enough.
He’ll smash Perth at some stage very soon we can count on that and this is how sport goes these days , there’s no such thing as loyalty or a contract when it all boils down to shitcakes.
The story they are keeping quiet here in Australia is the Adelaide 36ers big ex NBA centre Montrezl Harrell is one of two players in China that’s tested positive for essentially cannabis or a derivative of it from what I can gather.
I first heard this guy might not yet make it to Adelaide yet during the NBL Blitz and it’s just been reported in the NBL app that there “an issue” over in China. That’ll be a big blow for the 36ers if he can’t play.
There we go. An early season setback for the 36ers. Was hard to watch Bryce being Bryce against the top Euro league team in Sydney.

Must admit I didn’t realise how soon after the end of last season the Wildcats put the hard word on Bryce for an answer. Sounds like it was just a couple of weeks after the end of last season. I thought at least a couple of months had passed by. Not so it seems and the club said deadline has passed we are moving on without you. Idiots.
So you ran the risk of giving up your best player to an NBL opponent and that’s what you did. I’m now satisfied Bryce would have returned to Perth.
Clearly the biggest fuck up in NBL history.
