After 9 and a half years in the job he has come to an amicable agreement that will not see him carry on next year. I dare say they will appoint a caretaker coach after this weekend.
In my opinion they have always overrated their list and think they are in the premiership window hence looking for players to top them up to go the next step when in reality they were off the pace. Carlton will be next cab off the rank to part ways with Brendan Bolton.

Very brave of you dick dynasty to finger Bolton when then biggest coaching hoax in the history of the AFL has parked at your club. At least North had the balls to stand up and make a decision. Best recruiting in the off season, transitioning AFL players to Wafl is a sport for Ross.
I don’t wish to rain on your parade here tuggers but if you go over to the Freo thread and have a look at the last post on Taberner you’ll see DD is critical of Lyon…so not sure exactly where you’re coming from.
Actually his record is 51% wins which is a lot more than many other sacked coaches..
Good win today when challenged by Doggies & headed.
Best Coach available now is Ratten but they may wait until end of season as they want to try Longmire.
Hope Lyon does’nt become become available for them or Carlton
Surely it puts pressure on Freo, pretty sure without looking at stats that Lyons record is way worse than Scott. Especially the last 3 years. Brave move by North Melbourne. Dockers board certainly lacks the courage to make a big call.
Cera and brayshaw haven’t come on and developed any further, big recruits fairly mediocre. Mcarthy playing Wafl
Some talk around the traps that the Roo’s might try and attract Adam Simpson back from WA. Not sure why Simmo would want to leave the Eagles where he has built an excellent team to go to a bottom four club where he would have to start again, I know he used to play for them and he may want another coaching challenge. Better off staying here I reckon.
North have been trapped in the middle of the table most of the time for many years which means your not all that good or all that bad and dont get good draft picks unless you have something to trade, so never have any real sustained improvement. They have occassionaly made some limited impact in finals but never getting close to a GF or flag. So unless you have a crap season like they have so far and finish bottom 2 they wont get the good picks which in most cases lead to significant improvement … unless your Carlton of course. 9++ years for a coach is a long gig without any real success so they need to findan experienced coach with some presence like a Longmire, but he would be leaving a re-building programme to go to another re-building programme.
