Blast from the Past - Music

I read that Ace Frehley has gone up to visit Roy Orbison , Tom Petty , George Harrison and the like

Now these blokes were just about everything and anything back in the day - remember concerts in Perth that stopped WA outright and forever altered families in general not to mention High School walls that were plastered with grafiti
Some schools here still bear visible vintage grafiti of KISS

Yes he had a bad fall at home a few months ago. Sad to hear he passed away.

Some great names there Southie and we are certainly losing more and more of the great artists we grew up with.Speaking of those early Perth concerts the first one I can remember going to was in 1970 at Beatty Park Swimming Pool. They put boards across the pool as a temporary stage and the lineups included Deep Purple,Beach Boys and a young Sherbert singing their first hit “ Free the People “.They started the show and were really the highlight as DP played one song and said they had to leave to catch a plane and BB’s drummer Denis Wilson fell off his drum kit drunk part way through the set.To fill in time Gary Shannon(6PR sponsored the show) decided it was a great idea to jump in the pool fully clothed in his sheepskin jacket. Not sure if we got our money’s worth music wise but the slapstick was memorable!

also remember going to the Pink Floyd concert at East Freo Oval
whole town was crippled due to overflowing traffic
next morning the rubbish in the streets was just incredible
few bodies curled up in places too
