Cox has retired effective as of the end of the season.
Well done Coxy, you have been an out and out legend of the game and easily the greatest ruckman of the modern era. I dont think theres a single fan of AFL that doesnt respect what you have done.
Spot on and a wise decision. He had nothing left to prove and this will help the Eaglesrretain Lycett andSinclair. In fact I think if all 4 ruckmen are available then Coxy should not play except that for a fairwell game.
A fantastic ruckman that made a midfielders work much easier.
Was the complete package in his day.
One of the great ruckmen of the modern era, a true champion.Good luck.
Well done Coxy, you have been a true champion of not only the WCE but of the game.
It is a pity that he couldn’t get to the 300 games as he deserves it.
He will leave a big hole in the WCE ruck division by going.
Good luck to him.
Pretty much been on the cards for a few weeks, perfect timing , been great. But the club move on big time…nik NAT the man now,
nic nat needs to get fit and pull his finger out not worth 2 cents let alone his 700,000??? grand
West Coast has had some great ruckmen during its time. The likes of Paul Harding, Michael Gardner and the injury plaqued Laurie Keene spring to mind. But Dean Cox with his ability to provide so many knock-outs and his mobility and versatility has gone on to exceed them and as his playing career comes to an end he is remembered as not only the greatest ruckmen but one finest players to wear the club colours.

The complete package IMHO. Lovely skills EITHER side, also a great reader of play, and at times a link man in a very powerful mid field. Polly changed the way ruckman played and 40 years later so did Cox.
Well done coxy good career mate
