Controversial 1 nil win over league leaders Liverpool in the Carabao Cup, whatever that is.
The goal by 18 year old Bergvall was on a counter attack after a controversial challenge that if given a second yellow would have meant he was sent off with a red card. Certainly got big Ange fired up when quizzed about it post game.
Big Ange must still have been celebrating the league cup tie victory over Liverpool when they met fifth tier Tamworth FC in the FA cup. And good to see the Gunners midweek help consign the not so Hotspurs to just one point from their last 5 outings in the league.
Ange looked absolutely gutted after the Arsenal game, I wonder if hes feeling the pressure. Spurs do have a habit of sacking managers prematurely if hes not getting the short term results. Really he doesnt have the cattle so they should be looking at the recruiters
The Carabao Cup equivalent in the WAFL would have been the old Red Rooster Cup/Emu Export Cup from the 1980s…so essentially a nothing comp really.
Tottenham are currently 15th (of 20) in a League that are pretty ruthless with underperforming managers I cant see him getting past this season unless they get on a run of form through to May!
Good to see Nottingham Forest sitting in the Top 3 in the EPL after years of being in the wilderness of the Champioship & League One. They were a very decent side back in the late 70s, early 80s.
Ange has had a stay of execution and lives to fight another day,and is in the box seat to get the underachieving Spurs, into the Europa final after drawing the Norwegian side in the semis.
Big Ange is gone at the seasons end no doubt. He has lost both the players and the fans it seems. Supposedly, not having a decent replacement readily available has saved him to this point.
He doesnt look that fazed, lets be honest he has cleaned up financially, $100k a game, plus a stack he got at Celtic would walk away with 6 Mill at least. Set for life for a relative no body from Oz.
Big Ange’s mentor was one of the greatest footballers of all time, Ferenc Puskas. Coming out of NSL to manage a team in the top flight of English football - even if it is a shit club like Spurs, is an incredible story. Won’t have any problem getting another gig - maybe in the Premier League. Will be curious to see where Big Ange goes next.
Big Ange did it just like he said. Won a trophy in his second year winning the Europa championship. Believe to be worth 100 million pounds to Tottenham. Surely can’t sack him now they’ll end up with egg on their faces if they sack him and the new manager can’t do any better.
Iv’e followed Ange’s progress, first as a player with South Melbourne Hellas 35 years ago,to his latest crowning glory as a European Cup winning manager, with a club who have been notorious underachievers,so well done to the golden Greek Aussie.
