Fremantles Peter Bell will be inducted into the WA sports hall of fame next week.
Bell played 286 games. He was considered to slow and too short to make it by Gerard Neesham after selecting him as one of the first draftees for Fremantle.
He was recruited to the kangaroos and had a very successful career there. He was their F&B in his last year at the Roos.
He played played 163 games in two stints at Fremantle. He also captainerd the side in 107 games, which at the time was a record.Only now out done by Mathew Pavlic.
Also being inducted is South Fremantle great Ray Richards,Eagles great Chris Lewis.George Young originally from Subi, but later played for the Saints. Also west Perth and Claremonts Frank Hopkins. Also Tom Wilson from Fremantle and East Fremantle.I am assuming he was part of the original Fremantle before becoming East Fremantle.
Well done to all.
Well done Peter Bell. Gave Freo some respect and paid your dues by finishing off at South Freo (and putting in while you were there).
